As most of you know if you have read some of my posts, my husband was laid off for four months last summer. When he was, we had our satellite tv turned off, because that is something we can do without and a way to save money. My MIL got us satellite TV for Christmas and the man came out and installed it yesterday. I thought things went well.

He was friendly, I was friendly, he got it working, everything was great.

Then this morning my husband called his brother, who lives with their mother to tell him something unrelated and my BIL tells my husband that the satellite guy called them last night and said he saw me smoking meth in the bathroom!!

What the hell???

I don't smoke meth! I know people who do but I don't really have anything to do with them, other than that one 20 year old kid who my kids know that I helped talk to his parents and get into rehab. The only time I was in the bathroom while he was here was to either pee, and I did clean the front bathroom while he was here with spray cleaner, Comet, a sponge and a toilet brush. As far as I know none of those items are used in smoking meth!

My older daughters bathroom is a nightmare and he may have seen her bathroom and assumed thats what was going on. But it's not.

My BIL and MIL have just left to go out of town until Januray and I've sent my BIL a FB message telling him this, and to call me when he gets there. I'll be glad to pee in a cup anytime to prove that! I'm about to go to my mothers and call Direct TV and talk to this guys boss and inform him of this situation.

My husband also said the guy told my BIL he was notifying the cops, and so they might come here with a search warrant. Or not. Who knows? I don't have anything to hide, but I'm going to be VERY MAD if I have to have cops all over my house in my drawers and closets looking for things that aren't here because of some idiotic doofus of a cable guy who wants to run his mouth about things that he knows nothing about. If the cops come and search, I'm going to talk to a lawyer and find out if I have a lawsuit against the guy or the company because that is a little too inconvenient for me.

This is beyond the pale, and if the company does not discipline this employee, I am going to cancel my Direct TV. I'm certainly not asking for him to be fired, I'm asking for him to be disciplined in this matter. I am a 47 year old housewife. While he was here I cooked the chicken for the dumplings, put the butterbeans on to cook, folded laundry, scrubbed my bathroom, chatted on the internet. How in the HELL does anyone get "smoking meth in the bathroom" from that?

I'll post again and let you all know what happened after I talk to the company. I'm going to my mothers in about two hours. I have laundry going and don't want to leave it in the dryer to wrinkle when it's done. I also don't have enough minutes on my phone to call from here.

Trust me, I won't let this go until I get an apology and a retraction. I'll also be polite, but firm about it to whoever I talk to, because they aren't the ones who said it. They need to be made aware of this though.

Police coming round, searching through stuff, messing stuff, literally sounds like my worst nightmare. I hope you don't have to experience that. Good luck.

Why would the cable guy be calling your BIL? If he saw you doing something illegal wouldn't he have been obligated to notify the police? Sounds to me more like BIL is stirring up crap IMO. I'd definitely keep in contact with an attorney and keep on the satellite company and mention several times that you intend on contacting your attorney for legal action. Good luck!

He called my BIL because he called my MIL's house. My MIL ordered it as a Christmas gift and is paying for it, so that's the contact number they had. My BIL answered. My MIL can't hear to talk on the phone anymore, and she's also pretty senile. My BIL lives with her and takes care of her.

Yeah, why didn't he just call the cops yesterday if he thought he saw that?

My BIL isn't the type at all to stir up anything. He hates drama and has been known to completely ignore huge family drama and remain neutral in everything. My BIL always says about anything like that "I'm not in this, I'm Switzerland, I'm neutral, I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm going fishing!" He's never even been mad that I've seen. Everything rolls off him like water off a ducks back and he likes things nice and peaceful.

He told my husband because that's the kind of thing you have to pass on. The guy said he was calling the cops, and people want to know if the cops have been called on them. If he had just told my BIL that, he would have completely disregarded everything, because he doesn't care what people say about him or anyone else, and doesn't think anyone should care what anyone says about them either. He also probably thought it was hilarious because if you knew me, the idea of me smoking meth in the bathroom at all, let alone while a service person was there, would be absolutely ridiculous.

There is no need to talk to a lawyer about it unless the cops come. If they don't, then it's simply a case of a very bad experience with a service tech and needs to be handled that way. Unless I have a serious problem come out of this, like cops coming to search my home, there is no need for a frivilous lawsuit. If the cops came to search, theres nothing to find, but it would make me so mad, and disrupt things so much, and be so inconvenient, that I would sue over that, if they didn't fire the employee.

I'm also not mentioning lawyers to the people at Direct TV because they would know that's a bluff. No reason for it in something like that, and that would be blowing it out of proportion unless the cops actually came. Then again, the cops would probably think the idea of me smoking meth in the bathroom is ridiculous too and blow it off if he did call them. If thats the case, I'm sure one of them will tell me about it when I run into one.

I know it's wierd! That's whats so strange about it. Where would he even get that idea? Those guys go on about 5 or 6 service calls in a day, that's not enough to get customers mixed up, and he had even asked me how to pronounce my last name, so he knew who I was.

I'm absolutely furious! Going to report him right now!

I don't blame you one bit for being mad at this DirecTV guy, and I hope he gets what's coming to him. He's there to install a satellite dish and wiring for TV, not to make false accusations against his clients or poke his nose into their business. Whether or not the police become involved, he should absolutely be reprimanded, if not fired for such unprofessional behavior.

Several years ago I had the satelite guy out to my house to install an updated dish, He spent the whole time flirting and asking out my GF and never installed the frikkin dish, he left it in the yard for me to do. And then I had to tune it myself.

Additionally your satelite guy should/could be in trouble for filing a false report. Some insurance co's will cover a secure drug test if you want to get ahead of the situation and stop any further BS.

I called the main number, got a report filed and sent to the main office, then got his direct supervisor to call me, finally, at abuot 5:30 that evening. Well, well, well.........

Seems he had TWO installs for our last name in this area, paid for by the same person. The other one was for my son and his dope head baby mama. He got our names mixed up. He ONLY called and told my BIL about it because a baby was present when it was going on. This, I do not doubt. She has a history of using and of selling it. And of making it.

This is being handled.

Tbh if someone I paid to be in my house reported me to anyone, whether I was using meth or no, I would hunt him down and put a bullet in his brain.

She didn't pay for him to be in there, my MIL did. She also has a baby there with her to take care of, and it's neglect at the very least to be smoking meth while taking care of a baby. Also, if she was so far gone with it that she couldn't wait the hour it takes for him to install the satellite, then she's definately not taking care of the baby as she should.

Therefore, the baby's right to be taken care of supercedes her right to privacy.

Also, killing someone for saying something about you, true or not, is going entirely overboard.

Good job handguns aren't legal near me then.
