Kirayng, this sounds like a personal squabble. So, I will only say that listing at least one dependent is the smart approach to take with US taxes. Declaring zero, and getting back a "refund" is only in essence giving the government an interest-free loan with your money. Declare as many dependents as legally possible, and if you're paying in, the government has given you the interest-free loan instead.
