What do I need to do to get a clear explanation?

I need to rant. Rant long and hard. Rant to someone who's not a Councillor or adult. Someone who will understand.

And I thought, who will understand better than my fellow Aspies?

Okay...this will be long and have language...but I just need to get it out.

A bit of background...I got two new nice calenders for the New Year, one I got for Christmas and one I got a few weeks ago.

The one I got a few weeks ago was a Homestuck one. If you don't know what Homestuck is it's a pretty popular webcomic that I'm obsessed with. I love it a lot.

Anyway, I bring a calender to school and put it in my classroom to brighten things up a bit. I've been using the one I got for Christmas since I had to wait for the Homestuck one to get restocked. (Holy hell guys! First batch sold out in like 2-3 days!)

I got the Homestuck one and decided to bring it in and use it instead of the one I got for Christmas.

Big mistake.

So this morning I put it up and everything is fine and happy la la la la.

Then one of the teachers sees it.

She tells me to take it down because it's inappropriate.

I'm confused and ask WHY it's inappropriate.

She says because the characters in the pictures have horns.

At this point I'm saying in my head, "No s**t Sherlock, I can see that, the characters are TROLLS of COURSE they have horns." But I ask why it's inappropriate.

Then she gives me The Look.

I'm sure most of you know The Look. It's the "You-know-exactly-what-I'm-talking-about-don't-act-like-you-don't" look.

f*****g f**k I HATE that look.

It makes me feel so God damn stupid....

I ask again and ALL SHE f*****g SAYS it's that it's because they have horns! I'm confused as hell and getting upset but she won't make things any clearer no matter HOW may times I say I don't understand!

I hate it when people don't explain things to me.

I f*****g HATE IT!

I'm so damn sorry I wasn't born with a normal brain! I need things to be explained to me! And when things aren't, I get upset.

So I ended up in the schools Councillor's office crying my eyes out in anger and confusion.

I show the picture to the Councillor and she FINALLY explains to me why it's not appropriate for school!

Because the characters have horns it makes people think of Satan.

Hey, hey guys! Know what else has horns?!

Unicorns and animals like the Antelope!

Know what else is "dark"?

Halloween pictures!

Both are allowed at school!

That just....I felt brain cells DIE!

The two characters that are in the picture are The Sufferer and The Disciple. Characters no where NEAR ANYTHING that has to do with Satan! Besides the horns!

Let's do some math everyone!

Satan=horns, tail, pitchfork.

Trolls=horns, sharp teeth, grey skin.

Only common denominator is the horns!

Trolls+horns-tail-pitchfork=Satan?

IN WHAT REALITY?!?!?!

I mean, for Gods sake! The Sufferer is the troll version of Jesus! JESUS PEOPLE!

But whatever, I can understand. Not everyone thinks this is okay. Cool beans.

AT LEAST SOMEONE EXPLAINED IT TO ME CLEARLY!

Ugh....

So I'm forced to talk with the teacher again and I tell her that she didn't explain it clearly for me.

She said she did.

I think to myself "Oh no, b***h! You did NOT just say that to me!"

Try to explain to her why I didn't get it and she said that the reasons she gave, that they hard horns and the picture was "dark" (Excuse me? EXCUSE ME! You never SAID it was DARK! And how the f**k is it dark?! It shows the trolls reading a book together in the rain, not them ripping heads off of humans!) were enough and if I needed more clarity, I should have said so.

NOW WAIT JUST ONE JESUS TAP DANCING CHRIST MOMENT!

I DID! I TOLD HER I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE REASONS SHE WAS GIVING ME!

God damn it!

But at this point I felt like I was going to cry again and just let it go.

But....come on! She KNOWS I have Asperger's and that I need stuff to be explained to me!

I don't say "I don't understand" just for s**ts and giggles!

I just....ARGH!! !! !! !! *Rubs face tiredly.*

Holy crap guys, I'm ready to join the Decepticons and help Starscream with some Squishy Stomping!

In the end, I took my other calender home too, so now there's NO calender in the room. And I don't care if it's petty or childish, it made me feel better.

I know I may seem childish and like I over reacted but....if you think that, PLEASE don't post a comment like that.

I'm upset enough already.

*Heavy sigh.*

I need to go listen to loud music, blow up Kefka in Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and stuff my face with cherry M&M's.

What the hell kind of school do you go to? Sounds like they are the ones being freaking extreme....chances are you wont get a clear explanation from people like that if they get that offended over a troll with horns because supposedly Satan has horns.

Though I am a bit unclear of where you had the calendar, the only place I know of in schools where people could hang their own stuff was lockers or if the teacher wanted to put their art-work on the wall or whatever. But either way is there some sort of rule in the school policy that says 'anything that might remind someone of Satan, is not allowed.' otherwise they have no ground to stand on.

I can see why you're frustrated though.

That was my mother with me growing up. Totally can relate.

I wouldn't have known what they were talking about either.

Unless you go to some insanely strict religious school I can't imagine why they would object to that.

They really would have hated me. I was satan for Halloween in fifth grade.

Been there. This type of thing turned me into a rebellious jerk of a child, which turned me into a rebellious jerk of a teenager. And now, I'm a rebellious jerk of an adult.

Am I wrong, or do you attend a [private] Christian school?

maybe this is even discrimination against you because you're autistic...

If they're giong to take your things away, (which sounds like they didn't even have a good reason to do to begin with) you at least deserve a decent explanation. You're not too stupid to understand.

What do your parents think of this? My only advice is if standing up for yourself to the teacher didn't work, try prodding your parents to tell the school that you don't just take things away from people for no good reason!
