Lately I've been feeling like it's not worth it anymore. I feel like a screw up. My dad is depressed too. I think I get it from him. I'm just tired of everything. I don't care anymore.

I'm sorry you're suffering. To be honest I was reluctant to post because I feel the same way and I don't want it to be the blind leading the blind. Anyway I can say I'd feel worse were it not for seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. Do you see either or both of these?

Hi,

I have a depressed dad, too. It is hard to see someone you love hurting in the world also. Depression stinks, and it feels awful and like it won't end. But it can get better. Six months ago I wouldn't have known how it possibly COULD get better, but somehow it has. It has taken serious work, I have seen a therapist almost every week, and several doctors and tried several medications, some of which didn't work at all.

I would encourage you to ask for help and keep trying, even if it seems like you have no energy to try. I was seriously depressed for quite a long time, and thought it could just better, but that only happened after I got help.

I hope you have a friend you can talk to or text about how you feel, or you can make a friend here to talk to. Sometimes just saying stuff gets it out a little bit.

Yeah, I'm going to talk to someone. I told my student councilor person about how I was feeling depressed and I wanted to get help.

You need to get out of that environment. You can't let your dad drag you down.
