Where I been living now, for the last three I been having harassment from neighbours. The harassment has stressed me to the point that I don't feel safe living where I am now & safe to go out by myself. My family live close to were I am now, it effects my family. My family have been having a lot of personal problems & I have felt powerless to be of support to them while have my own problems.

Yesterday I got good news after looking for an new place to live, I been giving offer on a flat. Now this new place is far away from my family plus after the paper been done (that might happen in less that a week) the landlord will what me to to move in with in a few day due the safety issues am having now in the area am in now..

My AS support team have warned me that the move will be very stressful for me. Over the last wee I been worried plus been having lots of shutdowns. Practically and emotionally I know I will not cope with the move but also know it will be a short term stress to help get rid of long term stresses of my harassment.

How can I get thought this short term hell in one piece in order to then get on with rebuilding my life?

For me, I think the worst part of moving was packing....the change was one I wanted (that's a rare occurrence), but getting though preparing everything into boxes, it was stressful.

If there's anyone who can help you with the packing, that would be my suggestion. If not, I would do some packing each day.

Good luck with your new place. When you're really ready to move (and it sounds like you are), I think it's worth the short term stress.

Thanks :D

Well I got a viewing of the place next week and my support team don't want to me getting worried with details right now into I finally said yes to the place. I got one issue right now I told my mother when am going to see that place & she wants my sister to come & view with my support work & myself

Once I given the thumbs to up it three of my support works are going to have a chat with me about planing the move, eg getting people in to help me with and with costs.

The thing am most worried about is that this will be a very speedy move cos' of my current neighbourhood problems.

It sounds like you'll have some people to help. :)

Also, it may help to comfort you quickly in the new place if you place a picture that you like on the wall, or have the comfort of something you enjoy and appreciate (like special books, or music) set up straight away......just so that there's something that makes you feel at home in your new place, perhaps even before all of the basic necessities are unpacked.

Congratulations :D

I just recently got to move. I had been wanting to do this for a long time but there was still some stress. The main stressful part for me was the time from when the movers started taking my stuff out of my home until they had it all in my new home. I don't like people messing with my stuff.

One bit of advice I have is when you are cleaning and unpacking make sure you remember to eat and drink. I was so focused on unpacking stuff all day that I would forget to do that and then feel crummy. Also make sure you have some stuff you'll want to use right away packed separate so you don't have to go without it for days until you find it.

It took me a bit to adjust to the new place and settle in but once I did I know I'm much happier and better off in my new place. In my old place I had multiple things bothering me, some of which were bad panic attack triggers like the furnace leaking gas, the roof leaking, and the outlet in the bathroom that hummed.

I just moved in October so I know how stressful it can be. What helped for me was getting help with the physical packing and moving (in fact I wasn't even around for much of that) but the unpacking I had to do myself. It's really important to put the stuff where you want it and for you to know where it is. It will become home much faster if you are in charge of setting it up. And get out of the old place as fast as possible, the new place doesn't have to be perfect, once all of your things are there you can set it up slowly. Just get out of the old place, it sounds awful!

i viewed the place today with my support work and sister, the landlord has offered me the place.
I need to make a decision by tomorrow & they what me to move in by a week time 8O

My support worker it tried to get me more time as there short staffed right now to help me
Am stressing out making a decision as I can make my mind up:?

The area is great its a small number of things am not happy about the place, plus am not happy with having a speeding move that might cost me more money.
