Changing a (life) long paradigm
Hey, does anybody here know how to conquer on successfully changing one's paradigm on any subject. I realize that my anxiety and tears I currently suffer from are delusional in some way.
Last night, I wasn't able to get to sleep because I had a huge meltdown before that (crying-I know, it was that bad; note that I only tend to have these meltdowns when I am in my own house). What I had weight on was my fear that robots and machines, and the internet (since everything is done literally online), would replace all forms of business, therefore I can never find room to pursue what I want, and would say I was born in the wrong decade and things like that. Seeing my parents, I know they are tired of my whining, so it may seem as if I cannot turn to them anymore. I am going to see a psychiatrist week after next so I can explain it. BTW, it is not just the fear of business, but other aspects.
This anxiety can apply to my other issues in the world. Besides I want to learn paradigm change so I can better define my viewpoint on world issues like religion and politics.
You need to stop obsessing about things, and to stop dumping your emotional drama on your parents. The way to do this is to find things to distract and occupy your mind and your time because you obviously have too much time on your hands if you have enough of it to obsess on stuff like this. Here are some ways to keep occupied:
- Listen to and/or play music
- Read
- Take courses, either in person, or online
- Get a hobby
- Join a club or get involved in some non-club activity
- Volunteer with a charity
- Get involved in politics
- Surf the I-net
- Watch TV/DVDs
- Exercise--the endorphins this generates will improve your mood and the exercise will improve your health.

Well, first off, you should probably stop using 'paradigm' in conversation. When you have to look up a word to see if it's used correctly, then it's time to find another word.
Fear is a tough thing to overcome, especially when the thing you fear is abstract and hard to explain in layman's terms. Distracting yourself can help, but you eventually have to look at what you're fearing and see if it's a rational fear and, if it is rational, if it's something you can do anything about. If businesses are to be replaced by machines, then it's destiny, and you'll adjust. We all will. There's no sense in worrying about a thing you have no control over, because worrying doesn't help you. Be prepared, not afraid.

sounds like OCD. have you talked to a therapist about this? there are a few treatments, including CBT and various medicines.
