I'm not familiar with how the system in Australia works concerning these things. I would consult with a lawyer.

Unfortunately I think it's common that people underestimate us.

Congratulations on becoming a father.

You're family can't do that to you. If you think you're a capable parent, chances are you're right, and any welfare people would see that. If you have a partner of any kind, they should also be able to back you up. Nobody's a perfect parent, but just because we're Aspie doesn't mean we'd be any worse than NTs, and a lot of us are probably better.

Sometimes families get things wrong. Ignore them.

I am so glad to be in the USA, at least they don't do that s**t here. But unfortunately these hospital places in my area are known to call CPS on people who have disabilities. So someone showed up on my door step three months after I had mine. I wonder of the social services here feel about the abuse they are getting. That is probably why they took so long to come to my door. If they got a report just because someone has a diagnoses of something, they aren't too bothered and they focus on the worse cases and on the ones that are more important and more serious such as suspected neglect or psychical abuse or home being dirty or the parents doing drugs.

Are you married? Is your wife aspie or NT?

From my experience, a lot of NTs aren't capable of being good parents, but they don't usually lose custody of their kids. A lot of the time kids are forced to deal with their parents ignorance until they're old enough to realize that they have more figured out than them and that their parents aren't always right. From a lot of the people I've witnessed conversations from, it sounds like their parents are more oppressive than supporting. Aspies can be better parents than a lot of NTs. If you want to distance yourself from your parents and the Australian government, moving out of the country is always an option. I don't think it's considered kidnapping unless you've already lost custody. You could move to the United States, Canada, an island in the Caribbean like Bermuda, or somewhere else and not tell your parents where you're going.
