I need to eat,t don't know what to and 1/2way don't WANT to

My tummy is growling and I'll have blood sugar trouble if I don't eat.

But I don't WANT to. :?

And the idea of fixing something to eat is bringing me to tears.

What the hell is happening :?:

Yes, I know exactly how you feel, I've got the same problem at times.

Years ago I found that if I didn't eat and was hungry, some things wouldn't bother me. I'm sure that was because the brain was totally occupied concentrating on ignoring hunger pains. Sometimes I still do it.

I don't want to prepare a meal either. Here's a list of the things I have decided I should have just in case the situation comes up that I am hungry but REALLY would prefer not to eat anything. Cereal, fruit such as bananas, granola bars, fruit and nut mixes, yogurt. I have considered putting additives into the yogurt-basically anything else on the list, but that's a little more work. Do you also feel that you want something to eat immediately? Absoultely no preparation?

Please let me know. I considered posting a message like this recently. The reason I didn't is because it's very rare for me to get many replies to my messages.

Hope this helps, and you feel better. irene

Thanks irene.
Yes.

If I don't eat I'll get sick so I sort-of gave in and walked across the street to Walmart and got frozen pizza.
Now, when will I cook it? :?

That's the reason why I keep foods around that just have to have the bag opened or the wrapper removed. Anything more than that will stop me from eating completely, or at least for a long time.

Are you going to use a microwave, or oven? If it's an oven just go over to it, turn it on, let it heat up then think about if you really will eat it. By the time the oven reaches the proper temperature all you have to do is put the pizza in. Maybe if you think in terms of 2 small steps it would be easier.

Yup, I understand all about this.

You mentioned blood sugar problems. Are you hypoglycemic? I ask because I am hypoglycemic and I get like that as well... usually when my sugar is crashing. I try to keep juice around, as that seems to even me out enough to get myself to a point where I can stop crying and pacing and concentrate on the food problem. The juice also helps keep me from getting dizzy and nauseous. I tend to keep the foods on hand that Irene mentioned as well as things like those slim fast drinks, honey (if it is a glucose thing, eat a tablespoon of honey and you will feel better pretty quickly), and vitamin c drops.

I hope you are feeling better.

Ok. Do you think it could be your sugar crashing? Sometimes when mine crashes on me I just get a bit light headed or nervous, but other times I get shaky, frantic, disorientated... The last time my sugar crashed on me I paced in circles, crying and freaking out because I did not know what to do, what to make, how to get it, how I was even going to manage to choke down the food if I ever figured out what I could or would eat... I was quite hysterical. That happens to me about once every two months and I am not sure what it is that makes it worse than normal, but it is awful.

It is common for low blood sugar to cause emotional instability and lethargy. It can become a really nasty vicious cycle, I know it pretty well having to spend 14 hours away from home at a time. It might be a good idea to keep some power bars, or some type of meal bar or drink around the house for such an occasion. It may not be a primary source of food, but it should keep you up and running long enough to make something more substantial.

Sometimes the only thing I can bring myself to make is hot air popcorn.

Not sure if anyone will answer but, I just found out that I have Hypoglycemia and I was wondering if there is a good site to look at for advice? I looked around the web and the only thing I can tell is to stay away from starch and make sure I have some sugar intake.
Being Aspie I would like to see some kind of diet outline on a chart or something like it.
I'm not a cook and it seems like I do better when I'm eating veggies or something home cooked and healthy. If I could wrap my head around some sort of regimen I know I would do much better.
Please help if you can, Thanks

Robert
