If friendship isnt about who you've known the longest rather than who came and stayed the longest, then I don't feel like I have any. Friends don't seem to be consistant.

It is often said that Aspies do very little or nothing to maintain friendships. Have you tried to keep in touch with people, do regular outings, activities and such? I'm guilty of losing friends by not talking to them...

But I think your definition is wrong - what if you met someone 1 month ago who you just clicked with? that would be a friend. A friend is someone with whom you have mutual trust, are comfortable with, and who you care about.

The thing about people is they aren't consistent, especially NTs. IT's something you have to get used to and work on yourself.

Pretty much what MisterSpock said. The only ones who bother with you are the ones who understand.

We don't make a great effort as we don't know how to...but the true friends make an effort on your part and not forget about you once you stop gaining direct contact.
