I have been noticing more meltdowns occurring in these past few weeks. But they are different than I have ever had before. I have a lot of stress in my life so that might be why. But these meltdowns have an unknown origin. I quickly get frustrated, feel like I have to cry, scream, etc., or cannot focus and they last for minutes to hours. But no sensory or thoughts set me off on the meltdown. I cannot even focus on studying when I need to. Anyone else ever experience anything like this? Any tips on trying to "relieve" the intensity or frequency of the meltdowns?

I started having what you've described a few years ago... my understanding so far is that my psyche is processing past pain now that I'm letting myself do so. If that makes any sense to you....

I can't ask "have you been hurt in the past" because I think all people on the spectrum have... but have you been hurt greatly? Seems like there is some kind of blow-back effect on trauma, not only can I not process it at the time because it's overwhelming, but I also process it with a "faulty computer" that is my perspective having autism. So by the time I figure it out close to how it really is, it's literally years later. I had a period of a few years where anything could bring me to crippling, soul-sucking, tears of anguish. I told myself just let it all out, it's okay now.

This does help with past trauma. Unfortunately tho, once those wounds start healing they can be broken open very easily. So take great care in providing space to process and reconcile. It will help.

When I was younger, I was hurt greatly. I didn't realize that this would keep coming up after all these years when I have already dealt with it. It kind of stinks that it keeps coming up. But that you for your response! It makes me feel better that I am not crazy and that there is a reason behind it!
