This bloody rain! I can't stand it and yet the bloody farmers whinge for f*****g rain! Why can't we just enjoy whatever sunshine we might actually see? One tiny week out of fifty two we get reasonably decent weather and it's all "we want rain" from those whining gits, it's not like we're guaranteed a summer that comprises of sunshine and warmth now is it? I want to go out and about, cycling or shopping or going into town or generally LIVING, but this pissing rain keeping me cramped up inside, shivering from the cold and pissed off with the rain.

And the forecast for the next week? f*****g rain. I'll be f*****g a recluse by Sunday at this rate. Oh wait, I already am. Hmph.

Haha, yes. So, cold.
A few photons would be helpful in lifting the mood too.

You're whinging.

Farmers' livelihoods can be destroyed by poor weather conditions. You can get some waterproofs and go outside or find something to do indoors.

And where I live, last summer, the endless rain drove one farmer I know of to a nervous breakdown and he ended up being sectioned.

Chill.

I hate all this rain too - I'm stuck indoors due to work being done on the house so once the workmen are gone I at least want to be able to go to the shops, but I can't as the wind f***ed my umbrella so unless I want to get soaked it's not an option - I'm currently waiting for a break in the rain just so I can go get something to eat after a morning stuck in with the electricians.

BUT rain is important, we're desperate for rain to help limit damage from the drought - farmers need the rain, it's not just about their livelihood but when they're in trouble due to drought it also effects the environment and the economy so it's in out interests to have the farmers happily swimming in the rain. We got some abnormally sunny weather last month to go out and enjoy, chances are we'll get more weather like that this year - if not, well, it's England we're all about the rain here.

Last month we had about ten days of decent weather. Ten. We've had one hundred and seventeen days of the year already, and for ten semi-decent days, I have to put up with a hundred & seven black, thunderstorm crap days? Give me a f*****g break.

Waterproofs? What walking around Topman, River Island or college campus? You want me hounded out of the city? Real f*****g comedian.

Farmers can do one, there's a system called Irrigation. They should look it up.
Hawaii suffers from droughts and carries on, yet after ten semi-decent days of weather it's a bloody crisis?

I love the rain! I really wish it would rain 365 days a year. Wouldn't that be great? You wake up, it's raining. You go to sleep, it's raining. You're in your house playing video games and it's raining. How comfortable is that?!

Are we discussing the weather now  Ive seen so many discussion on this page about people being bored about the NT weather talk...

Just the perfect topic for me. I love all kinds of weather. Rain, snow and wind from all sides, lightening, all different clouds, and sun - everything is perfect :D

I actually have a recording of rainfall on a CD which I listen to every night to put me to sleep. It's one of my obsessions.

Whoa, where do you live? I live in one of the rainiest places in the U.S. and it doesn't rain anywhere close to that much lol (but when it does rain, it pours!). I personally love the rain, except on the weekends, or when it's really heavy with tornadoes and hail and such :( .

Maybe check out a light therapy box?: Light Therapy Box guidance for those blue days:
(Click here for Mayo Clinic lightbox info)
I moved to a place with 300 sunny days a year (from a place with 300 overcast days a year) and it TOTALLY made a difference. If you're not so wild and fancy free, maybe look into some sun in a box? It does a body good.

The rainiest place in mainland US is pacific WA/OR - you get tornados and hail too? That is totally not fair! Having to cope with mold on EVERYTHING and a pock marked car is not even a little bit okay. Move to Colorado. You'll just have a pock marked car.

I live in England, UK. Awful weather traditionally, you do have to look out for summer as it's always moving. Last year it was April, this year it seems we've had it already.

Yesterday, I managed to go out and get some food shopping, although we had to drive an extra two miles for an indoor parking store, still got wet going to work mind.

Suppose I should try and get out today, it is my weekend off but ugh...

I'm pissed off too. For 2 or 3 weeks solid the UK have had nothing but cold weather, and they're even saying May is going to be even colder. This is so unfair! All we will have left is June, July and August, and then summer will be over. Even if we did have warm weather in September and October, it's still not the same because summer is stale, the trees are malting, and the days aren't so long, and horrible winter is just around the corner and I HATE winter because I HATE the snow. Every winter now we get a week of having 6 inches of snow, and yes I know other countries get more but at least they're used to it, whereas everyone freaks out over a bit of snow in this stupid country. And you should have been in the supermarkets on the day the snow was forecasted! Every supermarket around here were jam-packed with people buying food and panicking in case they will get snowed in the next day. So f*****g pathetic! And yet the next day there was 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground and all of the supermarkets were still all open and all of the roads were getting gritted and almost all of them were clear by the afternoon.

But anyway, back to the topic, I don't mind a bit of rain. I like the rain. But I'm going on holiday next week to Cornwall (still in the UK), and I just hope it isn't pissing it down with rain there. And it's not just the rain, it's the wind what makes it worse. And cold temperatures. 10 degrees in fine in February or even March, but at the end of April and into May I expect it should be at least 13.

I do actually like sunshine. Actually, I prefer days where it’s sunshine and showers, then I have a little bit of both. Also I like the temperature to be warm.

Yes, yes yes!
I don't even trust our summer months to be warm, or sunny, or enjoyable.

In autumn/winter, I expect snow, rain, hail, cloudy dull days - like today - generally crap weather, but when it comes to LATE spring, I do expect that in return for the last eight months of awful weather, we get fortnights of no-cloud, high temperature, bright sunny days. This is not happening.

This rain isn't even healthy for us. Vitamin D, anyone? Helps the Liver, Kidney & bone strength, no wonder most of our elderly are now on Calcium tablets!

I went on "holiday" down to Bognor Regis on the 16th...highlights include:
Handy 3am wake up call with monsoon style rain ontop the caravan...
Daily paddling pool outside caravan next to car...
Shaking portable heater - also known as Scamps/Solo/Mutt/Foodie
"Fresh" cutting seaside winds
"Inspiring" views of various shades of grey whilst exploring local towns... a delightful British holiday as you expect from this wonderfully warm country

edit:
I've now turned the central heating, fireplace & lights on as it's getting dark & cold again! I don't know if I would get out of bed if I didn't have my lovely grey thick polyester dressing gown from Marks...

I don't mean to express a lack of sensitivity, but do you really expect anything more?
In this area at least, on average you have roughly a 12% chance of seeing sunshine on any given day of the year.

Huh, and here I am already complaining about the fact that it's APRIL and I'm having to turn my A/C on to deal with the ridiculous humidity and 85f temps. To make matters worse, a week ago it was only 55f with almost no humidity.

I'll trade you consistent, damp, England for schizophrenic, humid, Hotlanta any day.
