I'm starting to get depressed. Often I feel awful. I lack energy to go do stuff and I don't feel there's much hope for better times. Before I had. I left my mom and things got better. But now the prospects seem bad, at least for the near future, and when alone at home, especially at night in bed, I cry. I'm having bad dreams lately which make me wake up with bad feelings and often I wake up feeling just very bad. I'm constantly tired.

Now, why am I pathetic.

Next year I'll go to university. I'm afraid of the stress, the new people, having a new chance to try and make friends.

I don't have real friends. I want interesting people with a broad set of interests, an own mind, and an open mind. I don't see them. Nor do I see people who want to get more involved with me. My last hope for now is university, but if that fails, I don't know.

My boyfriend will be going to the other side of the world for six months, next February. I'm trying now to stop caring about it, this being the end. That it won't give anymore stress. But I have a hard time trusting people, and why would I put trust in someone when I see it all as doomed...

He loses interest in me too, seemingly. I saw another couple together for about the same time as we are, and they were so loving, and I get basically ignored often.

I'm jealous I suppose? He's eating and drinking out all the time with a (male) friend so I hardly see him anymore. I'm starting to feel useless, unwanted and not fun to be with. I guess it's really weak and pathetic to feel passed by this friend. But hey, that's going on..

I'm on a forum now, and people actually made some really rude remarks. I can't have much now, and being socially insecure such things hurt. I seem to drag it with me way too long.

I just feel bad often. Unhappy. I just wanted to vent a bit. I'm losing it, I know it doesn't sound bad, but I feel myself falling down in negativity, I'm losing control over my feelings and mood.

I'm scared of real depression, had it so often, and I feel it's coming again. Oh please no. Just wanted to vent.

You need to do stuff to keep yourself occupied and distracted. Here are some suggestions for that:

- Exercise--this generates mood boosting endorphins
- Read funny stories and watch funny shows. This also generates endorphins.
- Get plenty of sleep. Lack of sleep adds to depressive feelings.
- Eat healthy and enough of it. Skimping on food makes people more prone to depression, being more tired, and being cranky. Also, the skeleton look is hideous.
- Volunteer. There are people out there who are worse off than us, and would really appreciate the help. Also, it's a good way to meet people, and will boost your mood.
- Take up a hobby. It will keep you occupied, and is a good way to meet people.
- Join a club. Another good way to keep occupied and meet people.
- Get involved in community activities. Attend town meetings, events held at local libraries, local fairs and art shows, local sports events, and attend or participate in local theater groups.
- Take courses in person or online. Some of the online ones are free, and courses taken in person are a good way to meet people.

If none of this helps, see a psych doc for depression.

I've actually done a lot of the things the person above suggested to combat my depression, and let me tell you, it works! I'd tried meds but a good diet and exercise helped much more!
