Yes, I know all too well how you feel.

It took me many years, but I finally figured out that I am the best friend I will ever have. Who understands me better than anyone else?--I do! Who doesn't dump on me the way others do? Me! Who doesn't hassle me the way others do? Me! Granted, I sometimes have recriminations, or I will criticize myself, but never the hateful, mean, and angry way that others do. And never in the constant nagging way that others do. This is most of why I prefer being a hermit, and I am lucky enough to live alone. Many of us on the spectrum are not so fortunate.
Just remember--no matter how bad things are with other people, you are your own best friend, and always will be. You can't block yourself from yourself, as you can the calls, visits, and emails of other people.

You understand you, even though no one else around you does. We here at WP also understand, and are your friends, too, and we don't expect you to behave in some unattainable version of normal. Be yourself. We are your support group.

Thank you for your post. I do tend to forget that I am the one that understand myself most, because I find it difficult to accept myself as I am and always trying to fill other people's expectations so I can be a "better" person.
