Well, some kids got to go. Some went early. Leadout was at 9:30 and they wanted to be there for that but it was raining so they had to go slower. The invitations said it was going until 11. It was also my daughter and her fiance's five year anniversary, so she was so excited that it was going to be that special.
I'm glad that she got to go out to eat and dress up and she went with their friend k and her date. oddly enough k's date and my daughter used to hate each other and she spit on my daughter on the school bus in 10th grade and my daughter told her thats something like a first gradeer would do and reported her. but now they are friends, and she's known k for years and k sings in the band that her fiance is in. She was so excited when N asked her to be her date for the prom. They are just friends, but K is gay. N isn't, but she's not a hater, obviously. N had a date with a guy friend but he got a real date and she told him go with the real date and asked K. K is a few years older but she was so excited about going and getting to wear a tux again (she wore one to her prom).
Afterwards, my daughter came home in tears. Her fiance said she cried all the way home. The two other girls shed some tears too, N because her prom was ruined like my daughters was and K because she felt so bad for the other two girls because she remembers how special her prom was to her. So they all came back to our house, the other two girls changed into some clothes of DD's, and 7 or 8 other friends came over and DD got out her good glassware and they had drinks, which after that night, they deserved. She had a nice time sitting around with her friends though.
I'm about to call the school right now and talk to the lady in charge of it all.
