She spent a lot of money and time on that prom. It was supposed to last till 11pm. They went out to eat, then because it was raining it took longer to get there than they thought. They got there at 10:15 and it was OVER!! ! They were cleaning up and the lights were on!! !! !! !! !! ! She got no prom!! !! !! !! !

I'm calling that office Monday morning and making a huge stink about it. She's getting her money back for the tickets if I have to take them to court over it. Lots of kids were coming about 10 to dance and then leave.

Poor baby she's crying her eyes out.

I hate that bunch of rednecks at that school.

The other girl in the couple they went with, her mother is a tax lawyer and I mentioned that if they don't give the girls their $50 back each for their tickets then I'm going to small claims court, and she said her mother will help. She's going to talk to her mother about it tomorrow.

They all cried, those poor girls. At least they had a nice dinner beforehand, and would have gotten there much earlier if it hadn't been raining. Her fiance and the older girl who went in the tux are both over 21 and have gone for something to drink and some mixers and they are going to have a few drinks and listen to music in her room now. They deserve it after the night they had. I don't worry about them because they aren't big drinkers. Two drinks, three at the most and they are done and they put the rest away for a later date.

I could just cry for my baby right now. Her one and only prom ruined because they people running it couldn't wait 45 minutes for it to be over. There were still people there too and they were making them leave.

If I get crap at the school Monday, I'm calling the news station about it. They would be out there on that so fast it's not funny.

Yesterday (the prom day) was also her five year anniversary for being with her fiance.

How about getting together with the other students and making their own prom?

Then stick it in the news and give the sob's that 'organized' the official one some well deserved media attention.

I read your other thread, they would have a field day with it, that pic you posted even got me a little and I've never even cared in the least about proms.

Maybe if all the parents start asking for their money back because their kids didn't get prom or because they were made to leave early, it will teach them a lesson to stay until it truly ends like the fliers said.

this. Also, did the ticket/posters specifically say it would end at 11?

(ah, saw other thread; 7-11. that sucks. no idea why they did that, unless you missed an update or something; if they've any sense, they'll refund you immediately)

Anyway, I'm sorry for your daughter and her friend. I like Dantac's suggestion that they should arrange an alternative prom.

Well, some kids got to go. Some went early. Leadout was at 9:30 and they wanted to be there for that but it was raining so they had to go slower. The invitations said it was going until 11. It was also my daughter and her fiance's five year anniversary, so she was so excited that it was going to be that special.

I'm glad that she got to go out to eat and dress up and she went with their friend k and her date. oddly enough k's date and my daughter used to hate each other and she spit on my daughter on the school bus in 10th grade and my daughter told her thats something like a first gradeer would do and reported her. but now they are friends, and she's known k for years and k sings in the band that her fiance is in. She was so excited when N asked her to be her date for the prom. They are just friends, but K is gay. N isn't, but she's not a hater, obviously. N had a date with a guy friend but he got a real date and she told him go with the real date and asked K. K is a few years older but she was so excited about going and getting to wear a tux again (she wore one to her prom).

Afterwards, my daughter came home in tears. Her fiance said she cried all the way home. The two other girls shed some tears too, N because her prom was ruined like my daughters was and K because she felt so bad for the other two girls because she remembers how special her prom was to her. So they all came back to our house, the other two girls changed into some clothes of DD's, and 7 or 8 other friends came over and DD got out her good glassware and they had drinks, which after that night, they deserved. She had a nice time sitting around with her friends though.

I'm about to call the school right now and talk to the lady in charge of it all.

They are refunding her money. She should get a check in the mail within one to three months. We are happy with that, that's really all we wanted.
