So in the thread about Covid over in the news forum, I posted that a few relatives of mine had Covid and my younger brother had a fever and took a Covid self-test today.

It came back positive and now we're all getting tested. How do I look at this? I'm terrible with anxiety and depression. I already see it like this that this could be the last year or less that I see my brother and then it's only a matter of time before it happens to everyone else in my house and then me and then I have a year or less to live.

Maybe I should be positive. If I treat the symptoms with cold medicine and see a doctor regularly, We all should be fine. Then again, what if the virus still advances despite all the treatment?

Death or recovery? I can't tell which is more guaranteed.

It's not gonna kill you or your brother, dude.

If it were me, I'd take an antihistamine at the box dosage (whatever, but non-drowsy would be best), as a lot of the bad inflammation comes from mast cell activation. I could lecture on why that is, but I'll save everyone the pain of that. Still, watch out for worsening of symptoms around day 6/7 of symptom onset, as that's when it goes downhill.

Covid doesn't mean a death sentence. Are you and your family fully vaccinated? If so then there's even less chance of becoming severely ill. You might not even know you have it if you do get it.

My mother and I were given a vaccination many many months ago.

We've stocked up on bananas and I eat for breakfast everyday along with cinnamon oatmeal.

There are some good herbal supplements that help the immune system.Ginseng, goldenseal, echinacea and elderberries. Most stores and pharmacies will have them. Also gut health, stuff like kefir, yogurt and kombucha will help.Drink lots of hot green tea with honey and lemon if you get a cough.

Just an update.

We've gotten booster shots recently. Still, we're all not allowed to see my younger brother. Mom is able to work from home since she's an accountant and since I'm on SSDI, she and I are the only ones bringing money to this family while my youngest brother and his girlfriend are planning on moving out this month after buying a house.

Another update.

I just woke up this morning to learn that now my dad has Covid and is quarantined in the bedroom. I forgot to mention he didn't get boosted nor was he ever vaccinated.

I swear, rednecks and their aversion to science especially medical science.

My younger brother comes out of five day quarantine so now we can interact with him more often.

Update.

Mom has Covid now. She's not going to bother with five day quarantine.

So am I really the last one standing or is there a chance I have it too?
