As most of you know (I think) I keep referring to my depression.

Well, I went to see my psychiatrist and because of my social anxiety, angst-ridden, and my anger problems (Like uncontrollable rage when pissed and annoyed). He has perscribed me with a kind of (but not) anti - depressant medicine called Risperidone .

To see details click on the link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risperidone

He said that it will like said in the Wikipedia definition that it will reduce my anxiety, and depression, I hope.

He said that I have 1 month to try. If it doesn't work, and I get opposite effects, he will consider proper anti-depressants. If it does work, then I'll be on it for the next 6 months.

I'm on a low dosage and he also said that he will make the dose higher if it don't work as well.

My dosage is twice a day, and is a colourless, tasteless liquid that my mum will put in juice like orange which I drink from.

I took my 1st does about 3 hours ago, and I hope it will work for me for this month. :)

What makes you think it's going to happen?

be cautious about taking prescription drugs, often times these drugs are expiremental (I have no clue how they pass through the FDA). I was on anti-depressants before and they made me go into seizures... Also, do not drink or smoke weed or anything if your taking medication (if you do that sort of thing), it will f-- you up bad. Personally I find weed works alot better than any pill they've ever put me on. Of coarse once the high goes down I have a tendency to crash pretty hard.

Are Risperadone and Risperdal the same thing? I was on Risperdal from 1995 to 2001.

I've got to at least stay positive. I can't stay negative all the time and say it WON'T happen. I got to try these things.

It sounds to me like you're saying, "This is going to happen on Friday!"

Is this true?

These things take a long while to have any effect, so keep taking it even if it seems not to be doing anything. The changes happen slowly, so its important to keep motivated.

My question is, why Friday?

I talked to him on Tuesday, had to go for a fast blood test on Thursday by fasting on Wednesday night.

It's already happened. I started yesterday night, and took my 2nd dose this morning.

I hope you get from the meds what you are hoping for, having been there myself.
