Hating life right now...
I'm having a bad month, or maybe a bad year... I've been having financial problems for a while now. I graduated in December with a brand new degree -- but no full-time job. I'm working two part-time jobs, with the promise that one of them will go to full time in July. I've just gotten a promotion at the second job that means more hours and slightly better pay, but I won't see it until next pay check. Sounds like things are looking up, right? Maybe in the future, but right now, life kind of stinks.
You see, my primary employer shorted my last paycheck by around $500. The month before that, I wasn't able to make my rent or electricity bills because of a major car repair. I had sent my landlord a partial payment last month, with the promise that I would send the rest from the last paycheck. So because of the short paycheck, I wasn't able to do that. Now, I've gotten a note from my landlord threatening to evict me, the water company is planning to shut off the water if I don't pay them by 8 am tomorrow, and I still have the electric company to deal with, and my car note is two months behind, because even when everything goes smoothly, I am not paid quite enough to cover my monthly bills. Something has to slide each month, and this past couple of months I haven't been able to make it up. If I can just hold on until August (first full time paycheck will arrive on 1 August) without getting evicted, I'll be making enough to survive, but I'm not sure how much slack my landlord is willing to cut me, anymore.
I get paid tomorrow, but it won't be quite enough to cover all the people who want a part of me... so, yeah, life sucks a bit right now. I don't know what to do, or if there is anything I can do but just hold on and ride it out.
Sorry to hear what your going through, financial worries are the worst... First thing you should do is count your blessings, you have a college degree and you've been promoted at one job and you have your place... Some people don't have or achieve those three things easily. Use the paycheck you'll be getting on rent, I know water is important but I'd rather have a nice place with no water then being homeless. Maybe you can use the remainder to make a partial payment to the water company and to fix your car (im not sure what you mean by car note) if your car is already fixed then make a partial payment to the electric company or ask them to move the monthly payment date after another paycheck has gone through (you can probably do that for the water company as well.) I did this with my car insurance and my rent without any issue so hopefully they will let you.
You could take out a loan but thats another monthly bill and the huge raise you'll get from the promotion won't be as rewarding.
Once you make it to August make sure to reward yourself for conquering this challenge!
Hope this helped and good luck!

Sorry you are going through a tough time. Pay the rent and car bills in full if possible. Then pay part of the electric and part of the water bills. The landlord and car note holder are less flexible, and you need the roof over your head and the car to get to and from the income producing jobs. The utility companies tend to be more flexible, so as long as you pay part of the bill each month until you get the new, bigger income, they should hold off on cutting you off. I do suggest you call both of them though to tell them that you are supposed to be getting an income boost in a couple of months that will help you get caught up on your bills, so that until then you won't have enough to pay your bills in full, but you will pay part of the each bill until then.
Thanks to my Executive Function Disorder I am sometimes late with paying bills, but I do eventually pay them. Unfortunately, there is a late fee on late payments. Lately I've been paying them by phone checks, as they get the money quicker that way.
