How can I hold myself back from yelling out inappropriate...
...words when angry?
I keep using the C-word when really angry about something, and I know that word is a very offensive word. I have called a couple of people it to their face (close relatives) but not any more, since it causes extreme feelings of guilt afterwards. But each time something makes me angry I angrily use that word. We all swear when angry, but really I think I go a bit too far because I don't use that word otherwise, and when I'm angry I should use more milder swear words like ''tosser'', ''b***h'', ''twat'', even ''s**thead'' or ''a***hole''.
But when I'm angry, that word just comes out, and it gets a little bit of my anger out too, as though the anger is so strong that it needs a good strong word to get it out, or the other option is screaming and crying. Is there a way I can hold myself back from yelling out this awful word when angry? Does anyone else use this word when feeling an onset of an outburst/meltdown, or is it just me and due to poor anger management (which I seem to have)?

My husband uses the f-word, usually in long streams of invectives, when he is angry, and without regard to who is around--including our three-year-old. Our child has echolalia, so now he says it too.
Maybe if you imagined a little child saying what you're saying, it would seem so weird and wrong that you'd hesitate before the word came out.
P. S. I was in a barely controlled panic the other day standing in line at the bank and got a horrible urge to shout, "This is a holdup!"
I thought I was going to bite my tongue in half to keep it in.
