Hey WP.

I'm currently on a holiday in Belgium with my dad. Yesterday I found ou that my dad has been lying to his partner and has been(emotionally) cheating on her. I now have several options:
1. Blackmail him into giving me stuff
2. Tell his 'friend' to stay the f**k away from both him and myself
3. Just tell his girlfriend(then hope that she breaks up with him and he gets with his 'friend', who has show a million times more understanding towards me and my aspie-dom)
4. Blow everything completely out of proportion, make them both lose their partners and possibly jobs

Hope you guys can give me some insight into what to do.

Cheers,
Amon

PS: sorry for any possible fail spelling, this laptop keyboard is pretty sh***y.

Hi Lenny_amon. I think you should consider another option, and that's not to say or do anything and let your dad work things out himself.

I can't do that, sadly. I can't let something that I view as injustice/cheating/lying go by without doing anything about it. I'vetold the woman to stay away from my dad and she agreed to do so, which, imo, was the most humane option I had.

What's the exact nature of his cheating? That might give you - and us - more food for thought.

You failed to consider the 5th option.

5.) Talk to your dad and help him to remember why he loves his wife, and if there are issues in the marriage, they need to work on those.

Unless the root issues are addressed, it's just a matter of time till he finds a new girl.

So blackmail is an option, but not telling anyone isn't?

(Not judging, just confused.)

I was in a similar situation, and I said nothing partly because of fear, and partly because it was not my place. The two people (my mother and her boyfriend) broke up, but that was inevitable anyway.

From my experience people refuse to be told things about their relationship that the don't know or haven't accepted already.

Sorry, Lenny_amon. I have to go with singularity's option which is 'he's an adult, it's his business, let him work it out." Why? Well, you don't want to create a rift with your father.

He basically talks to her about me, since his current partner doesn't understand me, apperantly. As I already stated, I've chosen my option and the woman he talks to is now completely out of his and mine life.

My current problem is that I'm 300 KM away from home, stuck in a Belgian holiday house with my dad. I really, really don't want to be here right now and I want to go home. Sadly, he doesn't want to take me home. Any sugestions to how I can survive the coming few days or coerce him into taking me home?

Cheers,

Amon.
