I have an appointment with my neurologist in 3 weeks and am wicked paranoid about video games being taken. I have no other talents other than video games. So if I can't play them anymore, I will feel useless. The only thing I'm good at is shopping for MallGoth clothes and video games. I can't do anything Neurotypicals do or at least do them right.

You have a neurologist appointment in 3 weeks so you parents took away your video games for 3 weeks? Bizarre.

How is your neurologist authorized to do that? I don't understand.
you are 19 and legally an adult, if you don't like his recommendations don't follow them. not much he can do... plus tell him the same you said here if he suggests it.
consider trying to get a job with a game publisher doing game testing. I have a friend that started out that way and now is pretty high up within the company..
all you do is play games all day and note down any bugs that appear. though you often have to play games you may not be interested in

Anything by EA or Uberslop ? though to be fair to Uber I did enjoy Far Cry 2 (not sure why it cops so much flack ? ) I do hope they don't botch up # 3 by trying to be like COD .
I'd love that job you suggest
And your not alone OP I to am rubbish at everything .

Hi Zeromancerlove,
Has the idea of taking away your video games been mentioned by the Neurologist (or parents) before ?
It would seem a pretty unrealistic a approach in any case. Usually things are done in gradual steps. So if it was a mutual goal (of you and them) to do other things a certain portion of the day etc, some sort of middle ground would be much more likely to be able to accomplish. Completely taking away someones main hobby/pastime just doesn't make sense.
If you really think its going to happen perhaps you might get hold of a handheld gaming device, that you can hide and play in secret. Something no one knows you have.

The thing about it is that I have NEVER in my life had a seizure playing video games. Even after the Gran Mal seizure I had on the first of this month. My mom said epilepsy and what triggers it varies for different people.
Also, I'm going through a massive state of paranoia. Video games help with the paranoia, I've been having panic attacks when people tell me that the stuff I assume is going to happen is going to happen. Last night was f*****g disaster because I was so paranoid about video games being taken.
Oh and when I did have that Grand Mal seizure one of the nurses in the ER said she had epilepsy and she plays XBOX all the time. She was one cool nurse

Advice is easy to give.... and often wrong. Especially when uninformed & I certainly am not informed on seizures or medical conditions in general. In a sense my backround is all wrong, since as a soldier my job was to give other people medical conditions.
But for what it's worth, if I can't give advice on the problems themselves I can try at least to suggest an approach to the problem.
Make this a very adult thing. Get your mind straight on your health being the priority and pastimes (even though also important) being secondary. As you probably know, your parents/doctors aren't enemies but concerned for your health. Be open to their ideas and suggestions and if they make sense be willing at least to compromise and meet them half way.
Stress, and other things are also a potential seizure triggers, so keeping relaxed and removing the panic element are important. Going
'Cold Turkey' on a major hobby and current source of enjoyment would also be stressful and is the source of a lot of worry/panic. A partial reduction, more gradual seems to make more sense, but you will have to follow thru and make the reduction, to show credibility. The overall impression is to be a responsible adult also committed to protecting your health and willing to work with medical professionals. If you are dealing with it in an adult manner, you can also more easily stand your ground and insist on reasonable control over your own life.
