Lately I've been reading more and more each week about animal cruelty in the newspaper, and it's really depressing. Some I can't even read but still can't help noticing. Why would people gouge a kitten's eyes out? A cute little kitten? WHY??? Why are some people so evil? And why would people kick an elephant like that? Were they enjoying it? And why would someone chuck three puppies on to the road in a bag? It seems to be happening more and more.

And why do people have to be so cruel to children aswell? What was the matter with those f*****s who beat up baby P? A poor, helpless little baby? I know I get easily irritated with babies and toddlers but I still would NEVER hurt one. I do NOT agree with anybody hurting anyone for no reason. Why do some people have so much anger in them? I have got a lot of anger in me but I would never even think about taking it out on poor, harmless little animals or children. If only I could be a superhero, where I can save these porr little animals and children (or anybody, for that matter) who are being beaten and tortured by heartless c***s (excuse my French).

It just sickens me that these people who are cruel like this are humans, just like me. Oh my God! Even animals in the wild can do better than that with their young.

I think these people are emotionally void, my guess is raised that way or abused to that point. People are also really angry now cuz of economic and psychological depression, and tons of violence in media.

I think it comes down to power. There are certain people who need to feel total dominance over another living thing and so they pick on someone or something weaker than themselves.

Children and animals are the most vulnerable, and the most dependent. Taking advantage of them is easier than trying to bullying a full grown person, so bullies naturally gravitate towards inflicting violence againts them. Cowards  People like that are practically as bad as murderers, in my oppinion.
I just don't read the news anymore. It makes me too depressed. I wish people would put good things up every once in a while.

I'm so perplexed about how my family just let in happen to me. Probably because it was my cousin abusing me.

I felt like because my family didn't do anything, I must deserve it. There's so much horror in the world, the only thing I can try to do is to help fight it.

My dog is sleeping on my pillow right next to me as I type this... she was abused terribly and neglected for the first five years of her life and then by chance I offered to take her before she was to be euthanized. She's got a bad leg from where she was hit by a car and then left in a crate and never taken to the vet.

Sometimes I have nightmares where her old owner comes to get her and I can't stop her from taking her back. People are s**t. Some people. They're angry and they feel weak and powerless(just like we all do sometimes) and they do bad things and I don't know exactly why.

It makes me sick. Abuse of the elderly makes me physically ill. I can't work in nursing homes anymore because it's so common and there's nothing a nursing assistant cant even do about it.

It is horrible and I have no answers really. I just... I think I get what you're saying.

Abuse to anyone makes me sick, unless the person specifically deserves it. Otherwise, it makes me sick. When I read about people at a care home hitting and swearing at a little old lady that was ill and vulnerable and frightened. I just wish I could of come in, and comforted the little old lady, and told the abusive carers where to go.

A lot of abuse happens because we let it, noone wants to step in and do something. Abuse happens everywhere, to practically everyone on different levels. There is a lack of discipline and understanding on these things, we should be taking more action I think.

There is also like a mob mentality that I ready about in Psychology, where responsibility is diffused in a large population. An example was where a woman was stabbed and killed in a home with dozens of witnesses. And nobody did anything, not even call 911, because they figured someone else is going to do it anyway.

Yes. Also it's a predatory instinct, cause people need to eat things and they will naturally have the best chance of killing something smaller and weaker than them. (Never mind that no one actually needs to eat meat anymore to survive.) That sounds horrible but. Humans are basically Neanderthals.

There's an animal testing facility that was just built at the university near me. I think it's interesting that if I were to walk into it and start opening cages I'd get arrested and thrown in jail. Hopeless. If 200 people did it though they'd have to think twice about arresting them all and start considering making animal torture illegal. I think we should start a thread on here that's a pledge to stop needless suffering/place for organizing the bringing of attention to needless suffering. There's too too too much pain in the world, any hell that there is is right here of our own making, I'm certain about that.

I've always wanted to open the doors on the commercial poultry houses and let them go but they would just stand around and I would get charged with some domestic terrorism charge since I willingly tampered with the nations food supply.
There are lots of horrid events where people can legally torture reptiles for public entertainment such as rattlesnake roundups,Snapperfest in Indiana(people toss the turtles on the ground as hard as they can) even alligator wrestling, nobody asked the gator if he wants to compete.I guess reptiles are suppose to have no feelings and be disposable.

That's true, one reason abuse happens is that people don't want to step in and do something to stop it. I've seen this in my own family where my grandma is the victim of elderly abuse by one of my uncles, and the rest of the family lacks the balls to do anything about it. My grandma is like many abuse victims, they don't want to report it or press charges because this particular uncle is someone she enabled his whole life, as he's got bipolar disorder, and if it weren't for my grandma paying his rent until she "allowed" him to move in to care for her, he would have been on the streets years ago. He's been fired from every job he's ever had.

Unfortunately, this uncle was never a threat to himself, and emotional abuse isn't considered a threat to others, so there's no way anyone could force him into treatment. It's a really sad thing, but I have chosen for my own sanity to cut that uncle out of my life, and the only reason I visit my grandma these days is that he stays in his room the whole time people are over.

My dad's side of the family is just one example of nobody being willing to stop abuse, and there are other families where children are sexually and physically abused for generations because nobody puts a stop to it.

These type of people have a fix for power... and will do acts like this for either two things...
Pleasure or Attention.
I understand why you feel this way, but the action would be taken by those who will stand in such as the RSPCA or the NSPCC.
Stories will always happen like this because it's actually commonly known.

I don't know why people do those things to animals.

People beat up their babies because they have poor impulse control and lose their temper. You are supposed to leave the room if you get so frustrated you feel like hurting your baby.

I consider all non consensual abuse bad. I don't put children or animals above all humans.
