Ya know, this is something that has bothered me for so long as I can remember, and I can assure you I am not the only one with this worry, but sometimes I feel like I am alone.

For as long as I can remember, even more so on-and-off since 2004 and now, I worry about the world situation; what with the Middle East situation, the economy and other factors. I know that I have a life to live, but sometimes it seems like I worry about these events to the point that it disrupts my normal life. It's just so grief-racking.

I would think this sort of dwelling would hardly be unusual behavior. Especially in the wake of yet another terror attack...

My tears are slowly flowing from my chocolate brown eyes thinking about all this.....

There's nothing you can realistically do about the major problem of terrorism, short of enlisting in the military.

Honestly, I've been where you're at. I've always been afraid of going into major population centers because I grew up in the dusk of the cold war and my committed liberal zealot parents kept saying Reagan was going to get us nuked. That's another one you can add onto their "bad parenting" resume. Over time those feelings have diminished to the point where I can largely put them aside, but they're always in the back of my mind, nagging and chewing on my psyche. So I generally have to bring something with me for panic attacks if I go to a big city.

I dunno if this will be of a real help to you. But at least you know it does get tolerable eventually.

Thanks. Anxiety attacks like the ones I get over the geopolitical sitch in the world suck.

I wouldn't worry too much about terrorism. It's a minor problem that is blown out of proportion in order to give governments an excuse to take away civil liberties and enact a police state. That bothers me far more than the off chance that I will be killed by a rare, random act of terrorism. In fact, the loss of civil liberties is one of the things that keeps me up at night.

Hearing about civil wars, that stuff.... that's what I mean.

Yeah, but you have to remember that there is always a war going on somewhere on the planet. While some of the more "interesting" elements in this country may wish for a civil war, they are a very small minority. This is unlikely to change any time soon, barring a catastrophic "black swan" event that changes the paradigm (currency collapse, nuclear war with Russia or China, EMP, asteroid impact, gamma ray burst, etc.) . Even then, most people will want a return to the status quo, not a full on change and upheaval. At any rate, it's not something I would stay awake at night worrying about. The US is one of the most stable countries on the planet right now and probably will be the last one to suffer widespread unrest of the type that would cause significant concern.

I don't know about that, it seems like its getting more and more unstable.

Another addition to my worries: Given how many opinions there are, no offense, but they all get lost and homogenized into one confusing mass, making it harder to determine who to trust.

There I go again. I worry too much, this time about my friend that I met, and how I had a (slightly) awkward conversation with her. It's reasons like this, I believe, that will make sure I never get married. :(
