I was talking to my friend over skype text and I asked him if he could keep a secret. He jokingly said that depends is it toxic illegal or going to kill me. I laughed and said. ...I am a furry. He didn't respond I waited for 5 min then I said please respond. He then went offline. I called his cell which he always keeps next to him and he didn't answer. So out of anger I removed him from my contacts in skype. I am scared. We have been friends for more than 3 years and He is the best friend I have had. I made a joke about furries to him a while back to see were he stood on them. I said something about tanooki mario. I asked him how he would discribe a furry and he said "and weird person who thinks/dreams they are an anthropimorfic animal for sexual plesure." I brought myself to laugh since my brother was there and he doesn't know I am a furry either. That was about 1 year ago and I thought I need to know if he would change his opinan for me. So I told him. My heart is pounding. He now knows and is the only person who actually knows me in real life and knows. I am to worried to tell my mom since she is a person who investigates WAY to deply in to EVERYTHING I EVER WANT TO DO. My brother believes what my friend said about furries. I really am worried.

Why did you tell him you are one?

I never understood the fuss people have about furries. To me they are just animals that are like humans and people who like to dress up in animal costumes and people who like to pretend they are an animal. I never saw anything sexual about it either. I know people confuse it with bestiality so perhaps that is why. Just like how people confuse AB/DLs with pedophilia.

As I understand it, a furry is basically someone who is a fan of anthropomorphic fictional animals and often dresses the part of their favorite cartoon animal.

Being a furry is no different than a man having a boob or a butt fetish. You should not feel bad for your orientation!

You're only 15. Friends will come and go throughout your lifetime. True friends stick with you no matter what.

So, technically, all mascots of football teams are furries?

I doubt that they are that big a fans of anthropomorphic cartoon animals. Some may be, but most are likely there to support the team.

Considering how cold it can get at many late-season professional football games, being a mascot in a full outfit could be pretty smart. You ought to be able to put in a lot of stuffing aka insulation in your costume and keep warmer than most people not in the luxury sky boxes.

You know, a screen name like Pokelover isn't helping your case much. But bro-hoof anyway.

While there's nothing wrong with being a furry, many people have a very wrong idea of what being a furry means. Being a pegasister, I get some of the same from brony-haters. You've got to realize that some people will judge immediately based on faulty information. I'm not saying you should hide it, but if you announce it proudly, you will encounter this from time to time. That's just the way the world is sometimes.

I hope you can patch things up with your friend though.

For those who don't know, a brony or pegasister is a male or female adult fan of the new My Little Pony show. I do recommend the show. It's well written and appeals to a much broader audience than the theoretical target demographic, but that's getting a bit off topic.

PM me and I'll explain. I believe there is a forum rule against discussing fetishes, and the answer to your question gets awfully close to that.
