Focusing on it 24 7 isn't going to make things better for you, you know. Being alone sucks, sure. But you also aren't entitled to a partner.

I know you've already heard it a hundred times, but you need to work on being strong as your own person before you should pursue someone else. Having a partner will not fix all of your problems for you. It isn't fair for another person to think that your well-being and happiness is dependent on them staying with you.

It's also probably why you've had trouble finding a partner in the first place. The way you talk on these forums makes it sound like you believe having a partner is going to make everything better. But that just isn't how it works. You need to learn to be comfortable on your own, too.

By the way, I'm also alone on a Friday. I've also never had a "real-life" relationship. I empathize with you on feeling lonely, but being as focused on it as you are is extremely unhealthy. I hope you don't take what I've said as an insult, as it isn't intended to be.

comparing ourselves to others is a useless, negative habit. why does my husband have leukemia at only 68 when most men live until 79? useless. whatever is, is. i am sad. you are lonely. we need to do our best to deal with those things no matter what is going on with other people, which is irrelevant.
