It does. OK, I'm not only decorating ole boy's house for Christmas, I'm throwing a Christmas party there. He doesn't like anybody so I have to invite people. So far I've invited me, my husband, his ex, his ex's bf, his sons black gf's parents, her, the singing girl, my cop neighbor and his wife, the mayor and his wife, Judge Bill and his wife, Ricky the town cop and his wife and kids.

I invited the ex because she's my friend. How could I have a party and not invite her? That would be tacky of me.

And no, I'm not inviting Mr Paul from the grocery store. I do not like him. There will be enough alcohol there hidden already, with the mayor there. He's a bigtime closet drinker.

Another riveting episode from the life and times of OliveOilMom. Proving yet again, that truth is stranger then fiction.

Because she's black and overly sensitive about it. How dare anyone point that out!!

Seriously - lighten up.

Race has nothing to do with what the poster is talking about. Also, nobody else in the list has their race listed. This person is being singled out for race alone. Treating people differently because of race and/or treating race as something relevant when it is irrelevant = racism.

Are you sure you're not a wealthy Tampa socialite who is writing her first novel, and posting these characters as a test?

Oh my gawsh, it's not worth bickering about. People are used to pointing out black people and treating them the same whites, simply because there are fewer black people in that region. That's not racism, that's minority attention. Course, that story changes depending on the region.

Depending on the old man in question, the race of the girlfriend's parents might in fact be an important detail to mention. Sad, but true, that it could be a reason for contention in the celebration, especially since the old guy doesn't like people anyway. If he's, for instance, an old man from the South...potentially a lot different than being a younger man or an old man geographically located elsewhere.

OOM, let us know why the mention?

You're throwing a party at SOMEONE ELSE'S house, and you're inviting someone who probably wouldn't get along with the person WHOSE HOUSE IT IS... And you see nothing wrong with that? Seriously?? Are you trolling? If not, perhaps it would be best for you to just leave him the hell alone instead of forcing a christmas party, that will make him miserable from the way you're describing it, down his throat. Does HE want to celebrate christmas or even have a party? Does he even want people there at all, regardless of whether its for christmas or not? Why would the thought of doing this ever even cross your mind in the first place?

If someone threw a christmas party at my house without my permission and invited one of my exes, I'd be severely pissed and not want to talk to that person for a LONG time.
