How many of you HATE Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc? The noise, the crowd, the laughter, the alcohol, etc. It's so annoying! Everyone is so happy then I'm an outcast. I can't stand it when my parents have holiday parties. It's not a whole lot of people, usually about 4 couples. We are having one Dec 7. Parents invited 4 couples. Two of them I have known since I was 12. But still it's the noise and the crowds that gets me overwhelmed. I can hide upstairs and watch TV, but it's hard to do that when I have Ruby, my 1 year old West Highland Terrier. When we had holiday parties when I was a child we didn't have pets so I was lucky to hide in my room. Do you have holiday parties at home and you hide? With autism I hear its normal to hate parties. I can't stand to hear people laughing so loud! It's so downright annoying! I already have to deal with two co workers who laugh so loud like they are back in middle school that I have to wear earphones to listen to Skyfm. It drains out their laughter! It's like GROW UP! What to do when you have parties at home? Even reunions? Do you avoid them? I rather do a final then go to a stupid party.

I feel for you. The holiday visiting rounds are starting up with two parties this weekend, and at least three more next month. I sneak out on my own when I can, and try to focus on staying calm (doesn't always work though :( )

I also hate holidays like this, though I am lucky in that my mum doesn't throw parties. I have noticed that I have to spend more time with others when I have my puppy to think about, and that that can be hard. I hope you cope as well as you can. :)

I can also leave Ruby at the pet resort for the day, then I can go someplace else. The thing is most of mom's friends (She's Korean) are very nosy people! They ask me about my love life, if I have a boyfriend, and about marriage. Quite frankly it's none of their business whether I remain single forever or not. It's MY life!

The traffic is also terrible for anyone wanting to travel. Why would anyone really want to talk about that. Also with that pressure how do you talk to anyone with all that pressure.
