i have a touch pro 2 that doesn't work anymore. the main issue with it is the part where you hook the usb charger to it. one day, when it was charging, the charge light kept coming on and off and like a fool, i grabbed a small paper clip and decided to pick at it only to mess up the inside. so now when i try to charge it, the charge light won't come on. i was heart-broken. on that phone, i could do everything and get on alot of site with opera mini installed on it. it was my pride and joy. i have no money to get it fixed or get a new smartphone. it happened on april 30th, 2012. that week was hard. Now i have to rely on the wii and nintendo 3ds to get the job done. i still have the phone in hopes of getting it fixed. i still wait for the day i get a smartphone or get it fixed. i know its still alive, just in a coma.

(( Virtual hugs. ))

I wish that smart phones were more like dogs. There is nothing more robust than a dog! I don't mean you should stick a paper clip into a dog :) But if they get wet or fall over or lost or confused they just bounce back! And if they get sick they generally get better again! And you don't even have to carry them and then worry about dropping them. And they recharge really quickly. And they don't get outdated in two years. And best of all, they learn and try to please you.

Yes, I know that all animals do this, but I watched a happy dog scampering about yesterday, and it struck me that it's the opposite of a computer. So simple, so unbreakable in normal use. I remember somebody saying about Big Blue, a super fast computer from a few years ago: it cost many millions of dollars and seems like it was the cleverest thing in the world. But one commentator put it best: "drop Big Blue and a dog into a pond, and see which crawls out first."

Sorry to derail this into a thread about dogs. But I hate how computing devices can break for the tiniest reason.
