And even that is being took away, bit by bit. It's bus-drivers from a certain favourite company, and I love getting my favourite little bus to my ''second town'' (as I call it). I love the route, I love the drivers, and I love the company.....right up until now. I just got familiar with a few of them, got to know their names, got chatting to the two most friendliest (including a female bus-driver who is socially awkward but can't prove if she's Aspie or not), and I've got myself so attached to them and getting on this bus makes me feel so happy in myself and means a lot to me....

....until the indecisive bastards who run the company decided to change all their contracts about a month ago. Now nearly every time I get the bus I see about 1 or 2 new w*kers being shown the route, and they are really boring and unfriendly, and don't even speak English, they look Asian and just have miserable faces. When all the other lovely friendly ones were first doing the route (which was 2 years ago), they were all friendly, and ENGLISH. But now something's telling me that all these new horrible w*kers will all just be on it and it just won't be the same.

It's not fair! Why can't they just leave things the way they are? Why go and ruin everything, after 2 nice years of having these lovely friendly drivers running our services. It was attracting more passengers, the elderly ones just liked getting the bus for the journey and to have a friendly greeting with the drivers, more than anything else. But NO, can't have that, can we? And there's nothing I can do about it. Ohhh, why is life so unfair?! Most people demand for big events like big holidays and lots of money. I just want a reliable bus service with friendly familiar drivers, but I can't even have such a simple thing like that!

Sorry to bore everyone rigid but I just had to get that off my chest.

W'bout the rest of the buses? Aren't you able to learn more about the buses themselves? Or are you only interested in the bus drivers? I've seen a lot of your posts about your bus driver obsession, I'd have to say it's actually kind of interesting. Maybe you could learn about how the buses affect the different drivers of different age...

I wonder if the bus company, in rectifying their new contract, picked up new drivers willing to work for less pay. (Read: non-union). I wouldn't be surprised. Hostess Foods just went belly up in the U.S primarily because the unions wanted more money for their workers which the company couldn't afford (or refused to pay). Sigh. Life at the top sure can be rough for those at the bottom.

Your rant has veered off into racism territory. You do know that there are English-speaking Asians, don't you? Therefore, the fact that the drivers are (or "look") Asian is irrelevant. If your issue is that they don't speak English, stick to language, don't talk about race or nationality.

I'm aware of that. If you're trying to make a point, I can't tell what it is.

Yeah nothing wrong with Asians in my book most of them are very friendly people and greet me with smiles esspecially when I greet them in their native tongue and show equal respect. To the OP im sure you didnt mean that though and your frustrated with the changes it does happen one must learn to adapt its not easy for an aspie esspecially with an ever changing world and different people coming and going.

I don't mean it personally against foreign people, it's just that it's not the same any more, I know I am being stereotypical here but a proper British bus-driver always reminds me of a cockney middle-aged man with a beer gut. Or nice and tall with a nice-sized body, and a lot older. Not all these puny little Chinese and African and Asian and what have you, just there to work for less money and not really bothering to get familiar with the passengers. I know to some people what bus-drivers drives a bus sounds trivial, but to me and many other regulars that get on this service, the bus-drivers are part of it and it makes it feel nice when they are familiar and bother to get to know you and remember your face. And I'm not the only one who gets attached - a lot of the older people do too. Nobody talks to these horrible new lot. I might aswell be getting a bus in another company. Or worse - another country. I have been a regular passenger on this particular bus for almost 6 years, and different drivers (and passengers) have come and gone, but the lot that have been on it were the best lot I have ever had, and other regulars have said that too, so it's not just me overestimating just because I'm obsessed. They give sweets to their favourite passengers, they knock the prices down for the really regular passengers, they are very helpful and supportive to the elderly, and they give off a good impression by wearing a tie. These new f*****s don't even wear the uniform.

Think of a small village shop, a place where most local people walk in to get a newspaper every morning (and get some other bits too). There's the same person working in the shop and is very friendly and greets all the regular customers and treats them good, and makes them love going into the shop each morning, not just for their purpose but for also the friendly social interaction and friendship they get with the familiar person at the till each morning, or sometimes a couple of other friendly, familiar people whilst this person has a day off or is on holiday. Then one day, all of a sudden, there's somebody new standing there staring at you at the till, quite miserable, completely unfamiliar, and seems to be a different person on the till every day. You have no idea what has happened, you try to ask but they won't tell you (like what happened with me on the bus when I asked one of these stuck-up w*kers), and you have a right to know because you have been a regular customer in this shop for quite some time. Now going into this shop is just not the same any more.

That's the same sort of scenario that has happened with me.
