What he did is absolutely inexcusable.

If I may offer a suggestion, get the police involved and do not go back.

Yeah I'm not calling them. Why? What good would they do? The one that lives up the street from me does nothing but scream at his wife and hit her. She's my friend. You think I'm calling up them boys? No I don't think so.

Get him out of your life immediately. He could have killed you today, over a pan of effing beans! This is not normal, far from it, and you don't have to be living this way.

You're a tough & intelligent woman who deserves better than this, there's a whole different world out there and you have it in you to get what you want.

Please get yourself as far away from him as you can.
I know about small town cops,one of my friends husbands hit her and she called a deputy but the cop and the abuser went to the same small school ,so they are buddies.Nothing was done about it.
