I drank way, way, way too much, talked for too long and embarrassed myself, spilt part of my drink over other people, and had to be told (politely, by people I know well) to go home.

Ah, that's Christmas. And now I have a monster headache and a really sore throat.

I think I'm just lonely.

i used to avoid a hangover in my drinking days by drinking as many glasses of water as the number of drinks, then taking two aspirin before bed.

that said, your sore throat is more likely to be an infection, just an unfortunate coincidence. might want to get checked to make sure it's not strep.

Due to my having to take certain medicines, I am no longer able to drink...not that I really miss it.

Ditto. Diabetes and alcohol don't mix.

Awww Sweetie, don't feel bad. I've been there and done that many times, as have almost everybody I know. It happens. If your friends drink, they have probably done it themselves, and if they get all judgemental about it then they aren't the kind of people you want to hang out with anyway.

Remember this, because it's true. Your most embarrassing moment is just someone else's passing amusement.

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't wake up in a jail cell. That's never any fun. Hangovers suck in jail.
