This is really bugging me and it sort of ended up here somehow. I have began over my past two interests to take into account the boys involved with the female fictional character I have as the interest. Then realising I have more in common with the boys and enjoy seeing their side. I was really confused the other day when I was watching a film and I said to myself I want hair like his. But realised I was meaning it as in if I were a boy I wanted hair like his. That was weird I was having that thought as if I was a boy. I'm also not attracted to men, though I do adore any kind of romantic story. I was today scared when I found myself wondering what it was like to be a boy and that freaked me out as well. I know a lot of kids do that when they're young but I'm much older. I don't get it! I thought I was sure what I was and now I'm confused and weirded out by this stuff. I was always Girly as a child and occasionally I do like to dress up with make up and stuff but I relate to a lot of things boys are supposed to be into and always have.
Really confused!!

I'm not sure I can be much help, but if there is one thing i've learned about being different it is that you cannot fight it. Do not let the perception of gender stereotypes shape you as an individual and instead just focus on being you.

As a 26 year old male, you might have noticed I use an avatar from a cartoon that has a target demographic of young girls. This is probably weird, but I watch it because it makes me happy, so I see it as totally normal.

I know at your age it feels very important to get everything sorted out, but some things just don't work that way. Be kind to yourself not only for the things you see as being good but also the things you think are weird, because both those things are equally important in making up who you are.

I'm a girl and have always related to boys more than girls. I'm not into many girly things and when I write stories I always write from the boy's point of view. I also do alot of things boys typically do. I doesn't mean I want to be a boy it just means I'm a bit tom-boyish and many girls are. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Also as the poster said above you shouldn't worry to much about gender stereotypes, you're just you and that's ok :)
