Tomorrow I'm starting at my new course to get the rest of my NCEA credits. It wouldn't be an issue, but there's other people, and i'm going to have to interact with them.

Bring some luck my way.

What are NCEA credits?

I went thru several years of university without really truly interacting with anyone on a personal level.

I felt like I was turning into a ghost, my issues were making me feel crazy.... but I finished the courses.

I'm sure you will do academically well, too.

You might hate being there, and maybe try to compensate by reading the course materials if you feel you can't go to class once in a while. But watch out -- sometimes I used to miss important announcements, even dates of tests or special events, by missing the previous class.

One thing which helped me was to find a private little place for myself on the campus. In my case, it was the Womens' Center. This was full of angry political lesbians, which is not my thing at all, but it did have a phone, couches, place to hang your bags/coat, and even a tiny closet library (where I could hide ~grin~). The angry lesbians decided I did not exist, as usual, and left me entirely alone. But I still felt less "lost" than hanging out in the huge crowded library or student center, which felt surreal to me.

If there's a little place or club or something where you may still have no friends but at least it's out of the way and cozier..... I would try to do that for your mental well-being.

You never said, though, what issues would be involved with your particular course.

NCEA is NZ equivalent of what they used to call "School Certificate", basically, it shows you've got the qualifications of a job.

I'm probably overeacting, as This is at a private place or whatever. It's free too. It's not in a normal school setting and i'm basically in a group of about 6 to 12 other people. But even that amount scares me.

Well.... if it's just a small bit of people, can you bring something to read and pretend to be obsessed with reading? I have read all through school, and people tend to leave a person reading, alone.

I went. This weeks it's just Tuesday and tomorrow (thursday). It was ok, and I heard that an old friend of mine may be coming.

But day one, and already and argument with my teacher/tutor dude. Looks like it's gonna be a bit of rough year, he's been brainwashed with all that "politically correct" rubbish. I said the word "ret*d" and he got all up and arms and said "It's mentally incapable" or something, so I had an argument (a calm one though) and ended up sadly resorting to the "I have a mental disability so it's my right to use the word" argument which I hate, because I am against that sort of argument, especially with words like the N-word (I'd type it, but don't want to get off topic).

Apart from that (which happened at the end of the day) It was ok. All we really did was go to the nearest supermarket and get some food to make burgers, as these first two weeks are what's called "oreintation". I mostly kept to myself.

Next time i'm gonna take my ipod or something.

Well for the past 3 weeks it's been good, and me and the tutor, along with the other guy all get along good and are on the same wave length.

One problem, last week, he was called away due to his child being sick, and since then, including this week (in which I haven't bothered going or have gone for half days due to having nothing to do at all) he hasn't come back.

And it get's worse, now i've got the call that he's not coming back. Well f**k me silly, i've already got to know the dude, and got us on the same wave length, there is no way in hell i'm about to do it it again.

So, as usual (this happened twice with my previous education "Health School" which was basically home schooling) I am left f****d around. I'm going in tomorrow as there's a meeting I need to attend about this, but I am not willing to have to do this all over again. I was told in simple black and white terms, and assured that this s**t wouldn't happen.

I'm not having any mental breakdown's or anything, just extremely f****d off.
