I know its against the law to use someone else's card, but she gave me permission, but its illegal, but she gave me permission, but its illegal...

You can see I'm going into a fit over this...I can't reconcile it, and I don't know what to do. Help, someone, anyone!

If you mean her lending you her credit card then:

It is quite common within a family sometimes to give permission to family members to use their credit cards.

I am pretty sure its not illegal, but the liability of her lending you the credit card does not go away, i.e. if she would lend it out to you and you would lose it in the streets and someone else would pick it up and empty the account, she would still be liable for the loss of money, not you.

Everyone is responsible for the security of their own credit cards, unless one is robbed, skimmed or similar.

Just who told you that it is illegal?

As I understand the issue, it is perfectly legal as long as you have her permission, but it might run afoul of the credit card issuer's requirements. The best approach is to have the credit card company add an authorized user to the card.

It's perfectly legal as long as you make agreed upon purchases. The cardholder has the right to authorize who can use it and even allow other cards to be charged to their account. I used to go grocery shopping and get take-out dinner for the family with my parents' debit card all the time!
