Back in high school, I had a bit of a crush on a girl, a fellow Aspie. I even had a thread devoted to my obsession, which I feel was a waste of writing energy.
She thought I was a stalker, and was extremely rude to me. I was devastated.
After high school, we went our seperate ways. The Tom and Jerry games were over.
I'd been trying to get in touch with her. We're both in college, but she's in a different state.
She may be different now. Getting out of high school can do that.
I just want her to know that I don't want a relationship. She certainly didn't. Maybe if the two of us met, online or in person, and actually talked about those times, we could understand why.

Let her go, son. If she wants to find you, she'll find you.

You'll have to let this one go. If she wanted your company, she would have sought you out on her own by now. Alas, she has not. If she thought you were a stalker, chances are her perception of you has not changed much, and it certainly won't change if you email her out of the blue randomly. She will be more likely to think you're an obsessive stalker.

I looked up my old high school crush a couple days ago, after about, how long out of high school.... 5-6 years now? Actually had a crush on her in middle school, haha. LOOONG time. My friend actually IMed her for me and told me I liked her without my permission, and then she turned me down, and then I never talked to her again except for saying hi once in the hallway. Glad he speeded up the inevitable for me. I'm not gonna bother talking to her, even though I might be able to Skype her now. There's not really a point. Also I think she lives like 1000 miles away now. Whatever. My other crush after her is married. So even less of a point with her. I can't say I wouldn't be happy if I could meet high school crush girl again, though.

Oh well, it's OK to mope about your old high school crush. This girl was so cool. She lent me a Shonen Jump when I was in middle school, and liked Prince Polo Polish candy bars like me, and her crazy arty ideas won us a like $10 gift card for doing some project. Maybe my teacher knew I had the hots for her in middle school and put me in the group with her? Thanks cool middle school homeroom teacher. I think high school made her more bitchy and lame, though. High school also turned me into a dick, so it's understandable.

Turn all your unrequited love into something. I think the reason most people bother accomplishing anything at all is because of unrequited love. It's behind great athletic feats, engineering, etc. I think people channel all their energy into those things, and do it in some weird psychological way to impress their old high school crush.

Six degrees of Kevin Bacon on FB is probably the best way to get in touch with her.

This means join an alumni group from your high school. Friend those friends from your class or that you remember, on there. Then friend their friends from high school after a few weeks of having them as your friend. Eventually, if she's on FB, you will friend somebody who is friends with her. Hopefully you will have more than one mutual friend before you send the friend request. Don't post on her wall or message her for at least a month after you friend her.

People change, yes, but antipathy toward a person is difficult to loose. Just do not invest time in it. Otherwise you will get obsessed again or she considers you a stalker.

If she wants anything, she can find you easily enough on the internet, but do not expect anything.

Aspergers and "fishing" are not mutually exclusive.

At the first encounter she did not show interest and characterized you as a stalker-type. I understand the impulse to try again, but I am afraid it will probably just re-inforce the idea of you being obsessive. I am not sure how you communicated your feelings but probably she jumped to conclusions too fast, as having a crush is normal, and Aspies have their own idiosyncrocies that can be mis-interpreted. I'd expect a bit more understanding from another Aspie - theoretically - but who knows what goes on in the mind of a female. They are strange creatures, all of them. ( ) Let this one have the space she prefers and look for another friend. There are lots and lots out there.

This is so true and beautiful. I want this on a coffee cup or something.
