I have been just bored and lackluster lately, and need suggestions to get out of my rut. I can't concentrate on anything lately(I'm usually an avid reader), and nothing captures my attention or gets me enthusiastic lately. I'm stuck home alone often with limited travel means, and no friends nearby. The local socializing spots are bars or Wal-Mart, because there just isn't much else around. It's probably just depression, but I just want to throw myself in a new direction--but what? Obviously my people skills suck, but being solitary never bothered me before. Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you enjoy nature? If so go out and have a walk about.

I do need to get out more. When I get like this, I don't want to see another human being so I tend to hibernate. I need a kick in the @ss. :?

Indeed I believe I understand, I feel similar from time to time. I found taking a walk in the woods or anywhere outside is pleasant and you don't run into to many people and if you do they probably want to be left alone as well. It's how I clear my mind so I can think again. Although you may not be so fortunate to have any nice walking trails around you.

:) I'd go right now but I have a little boy sleeping in the house. I need to find a way to revamp my "routine". It really has been thrown off the past couple weeks.

You like reading?
How about you try to join/start a book club?

I know, most likely not the most appealing idea right now.

However even though it ll probably seem like a lot of trouble at first it should give you something to look forward to.

Trust me I ended up involved in faith related groups when Im an agnostic just so that I had something to look forward to(they were nice for over a year but things eventually started going downhill).

Right now Im involved in several similar groups without the faith aspect, theres always some activity being planned/some new person to meet so it keeps me busy.

That is as much as I have
