It's 4th of July, just another day to be alone. Even if I did get an invite, I wouldn't accept it. I'm a social misfit, I do have asperger traits, and if that is not enough, I have hyperhidrosis, and one more thing to add in, my 15 yr old son has autism. No one wants to be around me or him. Still, no one knows all this info about me, yet I still get no invites. It would be nice to know I am wanted.

Anyone else dislike holidays?

Home alone also. Hello to everyone, but especially to all the 40+ year olds on this thread. I turned 45 today.

Thank you Rigor and Red Robin. : ) Carol, is hyperhidrosis something related to autism? I might know someone who has that. :)

Hyperhidrosis, a medical condition that causes excessive sweating(I know, gross). Mine is the scalp and face. This year it is worse than ever. I feel like a prisoner in my own home. My lack of social skills prevent me from dealing with this around people. I just know how to act or what to say when my face and scalp are dripping wet(I know, this is completely gross). I am not vain, but wearing makeup and having my hair styled, helps to feel more confident around people. With hyperhidrosis I can't wear makeup. AND my hair, becomes curly and frizzy and completely unable to manage. It wouldn't matter what hair products I put in to style because the sweat would just wash it away. UGGGGHHHH..........................I just don't want to be around people, I mean I wish I could, but with all my medical conditions, I can't. :(

The 4th of July has become to mean less and less to me as each year passes by, unfortunately. No one invites me to anything either. I did get a PM or two from a friend on FB who lives about half an hour or so from me but that was about it. And, it was pouring down rain pretty much all day on Thursday. I did go out and get food to go to bring home for me and my mom. Unfortunately, all the crazies were out on the road; there was an accident that claimed the lives of a bunch of young people except for the 19 year old driving the vehicle on Interstate 75 down my way. Just a bad day all around. All I did really was catch a Star Trek TNG marathon on BBC America that ran for 17 hours ( I didn't see all of them but most of them). I don't even care one way or the other about even watching fireworks on TV either, just kind of nonchalant about it now. Holidays for me are not what they once were in general anyway.
