So i am a male 113 pounds and 5'6"
I basically dont eat hardly at all because i have anxiety attacks and cant eat. i have them half way through meals and sporadically during the day. I also have multiple food allergies so I cant eat alot of high calorie foods. I sleep alot and I am noticing I am getting weak and not alot of energy. My BMI is 18.2 I have talked to my psychiatrist and I dont want to be medicated. I am seeking out therapists and things. So anyway, I want a critical point I can hold myself tot hat if i hit I will go to the ER. But i dont know what point. I really need to gain weight but i keep losing.

Help is great appreciated.

According to the statistics, you are underweight.
Along with the symptoms you describe, you do need to see a doctor to support your nutrition needs and work out a healthy diet.

You are in the danger zone already because you are showing symptoms such as weakness and lethargy.
A weight or BMI chart can never be as exact as your own body's responses.
Best to make an appointment now.

You're sensible to start things in motion now.

You should pretty much always see a doctor about anything you are concerned about, whether it's weight, sleep problems, depression, or any physical or psychological symptoms.
Doctors have medical training to diagnose problems, access to resource and referral services, and are impartial when it comes to assessing health issues.
They are better able to assess if something you are worried about is a real problem, something you need to follow up on, or just paranoia.
By the same token, if you feel a doctor doesn't take you seriously, or you feel your problem is beyond their comprehension or expertise, you should seek a second opinion, or at the very least raise your concerns with them, to see if referral to a specialist may be appropriate.
Too many people develop chronic illness that could have been prevented had they seen a doctor early, don't be one of those statistics.
At worst you'll be given some perspective, at best you may be able to treat or stave off further problems.

I very much agree with Keni and benh72. You should seek help. There is no hard and fast rule about how low your BMI needs to be to become dangerously low. It depends on the body build, and also on how quickly weight was lost, for example. You are having symptoms that look like there are related to malnutrition, so that is a clear sign that you should see a doctor about your weight and eating habits. It is all too easy to end up with health problems due to excessively low body weight that never quite recover, even though your eating problem itself has gone.

You passed that point hon. Go now. I don't know what your food allergies are but I can give you a shake recipe for something that is guaranteed to put weight on you if you can drink the stuff. It's got milk, eggs, peanut butter etc in it though and those are common allergies. Let me know what your allergies are and I'll send you a recipe. Also, Elavil is good to help you gain weight and not have anxiety.

See my allergies seem to be to things that make you gain weight. like dairy and gluten. So all of my alternatives are weight loss foods. Like i dont eat peanuts or pork. or corn or quinao. or artificial flavor colors and preservatives. no sugar, no grains other than rice. I can eat meat tho, and fruits and vegetables.

Then I can't help you. Go to the hospital now where they can give you TPN.

Treatment should be seen before you lose anymore weight (you are probably losing a lot of muscle mass too). It's hard for a lot of anorexics thought since it means trusting your doctor to get you back at an ideal weight and help keep you there safely and not make you overweight which is what many of them fear.

You should go now.

It's good that you eat meat, rice, vegetables and fruit -- a lot of food options that way -- but as long as you keep losing weight even though you're eating (? that's what I took from that), it probably means something's wrong and needs looking at -- might be a thyroid issue for example, and that needs to be watched.

A doctor will be able to tell you whether or not you're malnourished, and they'll also be able to get you help in case you are (or, indeed, reassure you if you aren't).
