But I am not so good at self deception. I've been quiet about how frusterated I am with life because I don't want anyone to worry which they would if I was open about it. For one my depression seems to have taken a turn for the worst, the anxiety is managable with valium but it still really sucks...and for whatever reason probably a combination of things I am too stressed which effects me mentally and physically so I feel like crap mentally and physically. I am also frusterated about my financial situation, all the paperwork that goes into hiring a representative for my SSI appeal and that I have no friends/social life.

Anyways its really getting frusterating, cant keep thoughts of ending it out of my head though I try and fight it.....I just feel like I have too much to deal with.

i wish i could be more helpful to you. you can't dwell upon the upcoming court hearing, all you can do is just make sure the fundamentals are covered and leave the rest to fate. the only thing that works for me is to take things one day at a time and to take life in small bite-sized steps. what keeps the blues at bay are vigorous outdoor daily exercise. but as they say, "your mileage may vary."

What helps me a lot on the mental side of things is appreciating the small things in life, keeping myself busy with things I enjoy, not looking into the past too much, and counting my blessings not my troubles.

I'm sorry if that doesn't help. At times it doesn't help me much either, but if I don't keep trying, I won't get any better.

yes, one must wake up every day and resolve anew, to be stubborn for just one more day.

sweetleaf, you have been so much help to others on this forum. I know you have what it takes to knock out the paperwork. it's a temporary problem that you will overcome.

just think about it for only one day at a time, NEVER think about tomorrow [hasn't happened yet so it is irrelevant] or yesterday [already water under the bridge] but TODAY only! that will simplify your problems, in scope and complexity.

Walking, hikes and swimming are I think good activities for us aspies. Running/jogging is also ok, but harder on the body, especially at first.

Do you drive & have access to a car? If so I imagine there must be organized walks, nature hikes or similiar in your state. You'd have to do some digging but you'd be looking for established clubs or organizations that organize or sponsor the walks. Being in a group would make it more interesting and hopefully satisfy any safety issues.

But speaking of digging... are there any archeological digs going on in your vacinity? Those are mostly run by univeristies but staffed by volunteers. I always thought that would also be a good activity to try. And from what I know, it is not hard to learn. It can be physically demanding in having to be outside and active for extended periods, but I figure a volunteer can set their own hours in reality. Like anything else new, start slow, and let them know that is what you will do.

That's an old and effective strategy for coping with life.
