My dad is becoming more distant to me, my brother, and my sister. He doesn't have much to say to us. Only "How was school?" or "Help me ______________." He only talks to my mum about business and he doesn't talk to her about non-work stuff on very few occassions.

My sister has a concussion. One of my Aspie friends clonked her on the head somehow and her concussion has gotten worse. She's having a few personality changes and my brother is upset at dad because he's only making us do work and not seeing us as his children, and there's a rift between us. I'm having more shutdowns in school and I feel like that the world is becoming more distant from me every day and I just want to disconnect.

I just want to know when it's over. :(

As we get older we have to redefine expectations of parents as "omnipotent providers" and learn to see them as individuals. Parents need to do this also - redefine their children as individuals.

It's a difficult task for both, made more difficult by environmental constraints.

I actually left home at age sixteen, though I understand that's harder than it used to be. But you will be free when you turn eighteen. I would be working on a plan now to get out and be able to support yourself. It's the best way to be free of what you describe.

Good luck.
