I have money trouble yet again, about to get cable/internet cut off. I couldn't sleep last night because I was worried so I took Benadryl to get to sleep. Then in my dreams I dreamt about spending some money on some shoes while walking around a city where a disaster had happened some years earlier and had largely recovered and looking for signs of the disaster.

Then I went into an apartment and my next door neighbor was a guy who told me that I had wasted my whole lifetime of earnings on buying trivial things like the shoes (which were very high quality, yet not expensive) and that I'd never get back any of it even if I stopped now. Nobody was going to help me, either. The guy seemed nice but the more I thought about it in my dream, the more smug and nasty I realized he was.

Also, other acquaintances who had been good and saved and done the right thing were there and wouldn't help me either. They did the "I've got mine" shrug* and went off and enjoyed each other's company while I sat there with a Japanese woman who had tried to kill herself but it didn't work, and we had an awkward time trying to talk to each other.

I would have been better off staying awake all night. :x

*Also know as the "Tea Party" shrug :P

I wish I knew the answer, because I too am losing sleep. I am planning my move and there are so many details that I am a bit overwhelmed just now. Incidentally, I've spent loads of money lately due to this whole process! In private to you, it is an expectation that I would treat my (now former) lab to good-bye lunch (or similar). I decided cakes would be appropriate (& not the cheap Tesco kind). This morning I ordered 2 fancy cakes (1 beetroot and 1 chocolate) from my local deli.....£70 total. Plus a tin of coffee. As a necessity for travel, I recently bought myself a tablet. And posted some boxes for Christmas. Geez, I've spend more than my rent just lately! 8O

Anyhow, self-hypnosis techniques might be helpful, evening listening to white noise before sleep. I do know that Aspies are seriously worry-prone, so we're in the same boat. :tired:

I'm sorry you're experiencing financial troubles....I do know what that's like and it's so scary. Don't let anybody be critical of you, they cannot possibly know your situation. Sometimes I really think having a sense of humour (yes, even in situations that are not funny!) helps. That is, I try to change my attitude - to put it all in perspective. I'm just taking tiny steps rather than thinking about the whole picture. Accomplish what you can each day, and no more. I've set myself a cut-off time of 7pm - then I'm done for the day.

Be good to yourself, Mindsigh.....it will all work out somehow!
