After having his hip replaced three years ago, the bones in that area became incredibly brittle. Just a couple of days ago, he was out walking his dog. He kneeled over to play with his dog, and all of a sudden he heard a massive crack. It did not hurt at first. A few hours later, the pain was unbearable.
So, he is going to spend New Year's Eve on the operating table. That was the earliest they could get him in. I'm a bit pissed off that they could not get him in sooner, given how he is uncapable of putting any weight on his right leg at the present moment without wanting to spout out colorful language in a kneejerk fashion.
I know, I have said he was a pathetic excuse for a paternal figure in the past. I still believe that. But I would not wish what he is going through now upon my worst enemies. I honestly hope that he recovers from this. I'll have to worry about my resentments over how he treats me later. Now, he needs all the emotional support that he can get.
