Doesn't it suck when you're a nervous wreck, but it never quite dawns on you why? I don't think I'd have half my issues if I actually recognized what's bothering me right away. :?

Starting this week, my oldest son is going to be in charge of his little brother for a couple of hours each day. If I had real doubts about the situation it wouldn't happen, but I keep worrying that something's going to go wrong. After the first day, everything will be fine.

Unless my car explodes or something...

So, in answer to the babbling in my head...

He won't forget to pick him up.
He won't forget his key.
He will not break said key in the lock.
He will not forget his phone.

You know you can't be in control when your not there. :-) Your kids will most likely be fine. I think worry and stress will only shorten your life and not actively achieve anything to keep your kids safer.

How about hoping your son won't annoy his little brother to death? When we were teens that's what my older brother basically did to me every day after school when our parents were still at work until around suppertime. Oh, how I wish I had gotten a lock for my bedroom door the day we first moved into our new house. I was so thrilled that I actually even would have my own room when we did! :D
