I have been struggling with severe depression for almost as long as I can remember. I have got to a point in my life where I have accepted this as part of my life. I feel like I am living with a constant dull ache which builds into complete despair like the tides of an ocean ebbing and flowing. i have pushed almost everyone that has cared about me away as i feel like my depression is kinda infectious and i cant maintain any enthusiasm and feel like i just drag people down with me. i just want to be on my own all the time but know this is not healthy for me as isolation is horrible. but i don't want to inflict myself on people that end up caring about me only to bring them down.. life just hurts so much.

There's no easy answer. Sometimes it helps me to sleep on it. <hugs>

The world needs more people like you in it. Even if you feel like s**t, you're still a valuable person. I know that won't necessarily make you feel better, but it's worth bearing in mind.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. If you need to talk, there are plenty of us here who, even if we might not have answers, certainly can listen.

Thank you all. God I hate this feeling. I have been trying to get on with life but it just feels pointless at the moment. I feel like I have been shot in the chest, why does sadness feel so f*ckin painful sometimes? I know it will go back to being a dull ache that I can manage but at the moment its unbearable.

Sometimes all you can do is hang on and ride it out.
