Is this common, to turn on your profile and see your count dropped by three or so? That's why I got rid of it in the first place, but I don't get it, I feel it happens to me more than most. How often does it happen to you?

And this kinda bugs me, so please don't say it's just facebook. If you can't relate or don't have input, I don't need to hear it.

Naw it's more the opposite to me. None of my friends mind having 100+ friends. I on the other hand have a few over 10. I just added a girl from my middle school last night and I'm planning on deleting her if she doesn't message me within the next two days.

No but I don't really care. Usually I only add friends to facebook when I know them real well or if they seem like nice people I've gotten to know a little about online. Other than that, I don't care too much for the popularity crap. If I'm dropped I just don't worry about it.

Thanks guys, even if you don't relate. Many people don't. I guess it doesn't happen as much to other people or it bothers me more, or something.

I guess I do but it doesn't matter. It's only Facebook.

Not sure. I just Googled "mad scientist," and thought this one looked B.A.

I'm ridiculously private about who I'll add as a friend on facebook, so it's infrequent to have someone delete me -- though Im' not saying it hasn't happened more than a few times.

I don't really care. If people want to drop me, that's their choice.

I tend to be the one who deletes everyone first. At the moment I have 43 facebook friends, it stresses me out if it ever approaches 50.

I have about 240 right now. If a third of them deleted me tomorrow, I wouldn't care. Most that do drop me, I'm not surprised since I barely knew them. Those that did know me better, now I know we weren't that cool in the first place.

I keep my friend count really low purposely, having only people I know in real life and talk to semi-frequently in my friends list. I don't understand the people who want to just "collect" friends to increase their number, when they don't actually talk to any of the people.

I get deleted a lot. Usually people delete "friends" if they have not spoken to that person in a long time to free up space on their friends list for people they do talk to. Also, some people may not want acquantences to have free access to their facebook information anymore.

I currently have about 365 friends, which is strange because I deleted about two dozen people about a month ago that I rarely knew or had any contact with. At that time, I had about 330-340 friends. I am pretty active in my church and community so I have met a lot of people.

I have rarely had a problem with people mass deleting me. I see that a person deletes me here and there, but unless it is a person that I have close ties to, it is not a big deal. I could be that I rarely say much of anything on my Facebook page, and when I do say something, people seem to care less.

What I have a problem with is a few people that I know, and have ties to not adding me. My mayor friend and a couple of people from church come to mind. I might have to do with how I have ineracted with these people in the past, or that they use Facebook for keeping touch with close friends and family, and don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry as their friend. I don't know. Transversely, people who I do not think will add me, have. Does anyone run into this?

I do. When people who you see frequently and supposedly have a decent rapport with ignore your request, it creates this awkward dynamic. Also, you can't help but wonder if it's personal. It hasn't happened that often, fortunately, but I can relate.

Just this past hour I've googled pages talking about getting deleted. I'm starting to think it's not so personal, and maybe even has more to do with the deleter (them) than the deletee (me.) According to Allfacebook.com people do it for the stupidest reasons. I'll try to have a good night.

I think I care so much because I've experienced more than my fair share of rejection this life. BUt thanks everyone for responding! Keep sharing!
