One of my sisters is addicted to pain medications. Her husband was just sent to prison for dealing meth and heroin. WE live in a very small community and the police know everything about the drug addict sister and her husband because of the 2 year long investigation that convicted him. This sister is almost 60 tears old with a pacemaker. I have no idea what different combinations of medications she is taking, because I know she was taking some of her husbands medication, along with street meds. I don't believe she has taken heroin. Since he was just recently convicted and taken from her she is going through the depression and anxiety of separation in addition to not having enough pain medication to sustain her habit. She refuses to seek treatment for her addiction issues but goes from city to city to county trying to find a doctor or clinic to give her what she needs (wants). One of the other sisters is letting her stay with her because she needs to be watched. The sister she is staying with and another sister started messaging me last night about how the oldest one needed help getting into her pajamies and was slurring her speech. She has been to he ER already twice since he was taken to jail and I guess has been to a couple of doctors as well.
No one was willing to intervene, so I called 911 last night and they sent the police over to look at her instead of EMS. The police told me they asked for consent to look around and the sister whose home they were in consented. They were wanting to look around because they know the older sisters history with drugs.
EMS was never called and everyone made it through the night, but now the sister who owns the home is all pissy with me for calling 911, complaining that her home was searched and now she is paranoid the police are going to think she is a doggie. Now I am in the doghouse with everyone.
People complain that aspies do not display empathy and when I do what I did last night, I am being punished for demonstrating concern for m sisters well being.
