Get this. It's ridiculous. He's 18, will be 19 next month. In January, he was in the car with his friend when they got pulled over. His friend was getting an insurance and license ticket, and my son was sitting in the passenger seat. The friend was back there talking to the cop and my son reached over to the console and picked up the unlit cigarette that was there, and then stopped himself before he put it in his mouth, cause the cop was there and it's not legal to smoke till 19, so he just put it behind his ear. The idiot gave him a ticket and a court date for that. He read the date wrong and missed it by two days then when he called they said there is a warrant out for him, there won't be a bond when they pick him up because of the FTA for missing the court date and then he will have to go to court, pay the fine for having the wrong date and for TOUCHING THE CIGARETTE!

I'm seriously getting sick of this petty s**t with the cops around here. I'm going to talk to the news station about this tomorrow cause maybe if it gets on tv and people see how stupid this town is made to look because of that, they might drop the charges. I'm furious. He is now a fugitive from justice lol. He touched an unlit cigarette and then was two days off for the court date. He's a menace to society ;-)

I don't understand. I thought the legal age to use tobacco products was 18. I'm confused. Can you please clarify?

I think in the UK it's only an offence to supply cigarettes and alcohol to people underage.

I don't think it's an offence to use it under age. I might be wrong.

But that's here anyway, and you are there so I don't suppose it matters anyway.
