When do I recover from illness?
I just need to let out somewhere.
It's disappointing as I need to work and make the money. But the last month or so and specifically the last two weeks have been really bad...
The winter has been long and harsh and due to the dryness of it all, I have been suffering from nosebleeds as a result. Nosebleeds are easily caused by dryness and lack of humidity during the cold months of winter. I don't drip blood, but when i blow my nose, there is more blood than anything else. To make matters worse, i have a cough that can't seem to go away. No matter how much vitamin C I take, no matter how active I try to be, nothing seems to work.
The illness over the last couple weeks has resulted in me missing 5 out of 10 days of work, and me leaving early on one day for a doctor's appointment (with a doctor's note explaining what is going on as well). The nosebleeds and the cough have kept me from sleeping, and that is the part that disturbs me most. Inadequate rest may be the reason why I am not improving.
All I want is to just get better. I want the illness to go away, and I certainly want this winter to just end already. Two weeks of being sick is too long for me.

Yes. The experience of not feeling right is terribly unsettling!
And makes all the bad sensory experiences much worse, I have been going through this, too, and want to scream, want to crawl out of my skin.
A lot of people don't understand how something that seems minor can be so bad, so they may treat you like a whiner complaining about nothing. I don't think what you are going through is nothing, though. IMO one barely reaches a tolerance for normal sensory experiences, to have that equilibrium disrupted by an illness or injury with strange unfamiliar sensory experiences is extremely difficult to cope with.
Fortunately it does sound like this will end soon for you. Just keep focusing on that and on whatever can minimize your discomfort. Extra pillows, removal of allergens, anything you think might help. Doing something, anything can be calming sometimes.
I'm glad you've seen a doctor. That leaves nothing but symptomatic relief. I take Omega 3-6-9 oil capsules, and it banishes the dryness. I have a humidifier but I turned it off, don't need it. And for my other symptoms, the pharmacist recommended Tylenol Flu, which works better than anything else I tried.
It's so frustrating to be sick for long, I know. My doc wouldn't say how long but promised I'll be better before July. Harrumph!
