DH was taking DD to school, I was in the van too. This time of year it's real bad at the red light because you can't see because of the glare from the sun in the mornings. He got blinded just as he was going under the redlight as it changed and we got hit by a power company truck. Everybody's OK though, but the van is totaled and insurance won't pay of course because we only had liability not collision.

How much worse are things going to get?

Maybe you could contest it if you took a video of the traffic light at the same time of day as the accident to show that it is hard to distinguish color change.

Everybody in town knows it's a bad spot. Even the chief who worked the wreck said "Yeah, this is a real bad spot this time of year". We aren't being sued or anything, we just have no way of getting another vehicle. It's a frequent spot for wrecks in the mornings from fall till spring. There would be no way of making liability insurance pay to get our car fixed or replaced because it only covers the other person's car. If it's ruled our fault then our insurance will pay, but the other vehicle was just dented. Ours was totaled.

I'd be happy to help you find a good cheap family car. PM me your make/model/year & local craigslist anytime, with a little luck I can find 7 seats well under a grand. I do the same here for friends every other week.

At the moment there is no money and my husband got laid off on Valentines day so it's not possible to get anything. DH is going to see if he can get his mom to rent a car for a month so he can get a job and then we can buy something. I don't know what we are going to do.

Wow if its not one thing its another, according to your posts lately...sorry you're dealing with so much crap, and I wish you luck making it through this all.

Thank you! Something's got to give pretty soon. I'm having the worst run of bad luck I've had in a long time. I really don't know how much more I can take before I completely snap and end up in a rubber room in one of those nice jackets that tie in the back, or maybe in basket weaving class while on enough Thorazine to kill a horse.

It's gotta get better. It has to.
