Let's just say didn't go very well she demanded that I give her back the papers or she would call the police on me and well let's just say I tried to explain to her that I was only taking the paper so I can gather them to show the the evaluator and I would be careful with them well you'll see. This is not everything but that's all I could recored right then and there. She also said something about me being worse or as bad as my aunt and calling me a Develin a Hellspawn boy I wish I would've gotten that. But at least I got something.

I'm still confused about what's going on but at least i'll have proof.





I am so all over the place I don't even know is doing what I'm doing now is right.

She is abusive.

Edit- In that video she's really mean, calling a teen in her care a freaking liar and yelling like that but maybe she's a good person and that doesn't really constitute abuse especially if she doesn't do it regularly. Maybe it was just a fit of anger.

the best interpretation that could be put on grandma's behavior is that she is over-reacting. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.

Sorry but it sounds like your grandmother has some issues. You're having a hard enough time without her adding to it. Is there a school counselor or someone you can confide in? You need someone in your corner fighting for you! She is probably one of the old school types and their attitudes towards disabilities tend to be really screwed up. So many stereotypes from years gone by not to mention some of the garbage hollywood has put out there.

Uploading all of your conversations could lead to some big issues with her/the law(you cant legally record a conversation without the other party agreeing to it on most places)

I am not sure where Jen is from but only ONE of the two parties have to consent here in Ohio. It varies state by state. So if Jen wishes to under that law, it is perfectly LEGAL. However you do need to be really careful Jen. I worry about you because if you are found to be doing this by her, it could make the situation there far worse. If I knew what state you are in I would check to see the legality of it for you. Legal or not, it could really make her treat you far worse. BE CAREFUL!!

What should I do?

It's legal for you to record her in NY, but like Spongy said, possibly illegal for you to post the recording to the internet. I know it's illegal to post people's emails without their permission (you can post a small amount of them, but you have to be really careful). I would think recordings are the same. I think it's all goes under fair use law.

One party consent (meaning you) are ok with it, it is legal in NY state. Understand however if she were to find out, things may become even more unpleasant. Having said that, I would continue posting them to your youtube account perhaps NOT making them public. We believe you and you don't have to prove it to us. But disclosing those recordings to a third party may be questionable unless it is to a counselor or law enforcement. But if I were in your place, I'd continue to keep doing it and bad ones I would post. It might help substantiate your claim if something happens in the future. If you have a counselor at school I would let them know just in case things get bad and give them access if you have to. Just disclosing it to strangers like on here MIGHT be a problem. Just trying to help. Oh, and here is the law in NY pertaining to recording of conversations. Some legal stuff in there that I don't even understand but look it over.
