WINDOWS XP ENDS IN 3 DAYS! I need some advice! I already posted in the computer forum my fears! I need to use YouTube and WrongPlanet safely, and I have no extra money to upgrade ANYTHING right now! I need to know I'll be OK with XP if I'm using Firefox! I was also recently diagnosed with MS, and EVERYTHING is confusing to me right now! I'm SOOO SCARED!! HELP ME!!

It was my understanding that support for winxp was to be discontinued..its not like your winXP will just stop working. You just wont get any more updates or security fixes.

The other day there were articles about windows making Win8 as a free release ... possibly a nearly completely stripped down version that tells people to purchase the missing software as add-ons or something.

As long as you keep your antivirus software current, you shouldn't have any problem. Microsoft is just trying to panic consumers into buying Windows 8 - which everybody I know who has it, HATES.

I worked with a computer just a couple of years ago, that was still running Windows 95 and it had never been attacked by hackers or viruses. Don't just click on any old dialogue box that pops up on your screen. Most of the people I know who have had trouble with things like that are the people who never stop to read anything on their screen - if it pops up and has an OK button it, they click OK, without any idea what they've just agreed to. Your best protections are common sense and suspicious skepticism.
